Huckabee: "I have no fear to go to Israel ... I felt more fear in American cities"

Not really surprising - Israel is more or less a police state as far as internal security goes.

Something the US desperately needs.

I was watching the national news the other night and noticed how an African American family has to sleep in the middle of the house at night out of fear of being shot. Every night they need to move the mattresses there out of the fear from the gun fire. The streets are reminiscent of Congo.

The police are now trying to crack down and get back the streets. Guess who has come to the rescue, good old ACLU. Saying the police's crack down "is unconstitutional". #### the family living in fear sleeping in the middle of the house right.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Generally speaking when you implement martial law or something equivalent to it the crime rate invariably drops massively.

Of course living under martial law isn't exactly an ideal state of affairs.

Hmmm... What was the basis for the ACLU's complaint?

Were the cops profiling by race again?

I have been to Israel and felt safer there. Crime is not as pervasive as the US. Facts are facts.

I can't say that about myself. When I went to Israel I only used taxi with my husband ( then fiance) since I was afraid someone would blow up the bus. The only reason why I felt safe in Israel was due to my husband having a permit to carry his gun and his gun was always with him.....it was a bit strange for me but definitely felt safer. Honestly, I was even afraid to sit on the same sofa bed where he would put his gun even though everyday when he would get home he would unload it.

The first day when I arrived to Israel my husband and I went out. He went to the register to pay for something that we wanted to buy and his gun was sticking out.....I came behind him and tried to put a shirt on top of his gun so it wouldn't stick out or so that no one would see it, since I came behind him and he didn't know who it was that tried to put hands on his gun he ALMOST punched me in my face. I don't know how he stopped himself, cause otherwise I would be in emergency room. He thought someone tried to steal his gun and didn't expect to see me behind him. If anyone would steal his gun no matter what it would be my husband's fault and he would have to serve about 7 years in prison because of that so he was very cautious and here I was, didn't know anything and tried to hide it not to scare other people off while all Israelis are used to it and it wasn't a big deal to them like it was to me. Obviously here you won't see people except cops carrying guns. Till today's day we still laugh about it and he's just amazed that thank god it was me and he somehow stopped himself on time before hitting me in my face :blush::innocent::P

P.S. We went on a tour there and this bus was mostly with tourists and this lady who happened to come to Israel for vacation from PA asked me if my husband was our security LOL, since he spoke perfect hebrew and had his gun with him she thought they send secirity with each tour bus :)

I think that's the size of Brooklyn alone, but I might be wrong.

He does speak the truth. The majority of American inner cities have become no go zones at night. I think a lot of Americans assume that no-go zones and ghettos are the norm around the world. Well maybe in 3rd world countries but certainly not in most developed nations.

When I was younger I roamed many cities overseas at night, while drunk, going from one club to another and never had any issues. Taking short cuts through alley ways etc. Whereas I would not be caught dead doing the same here.

Pretty much every single night there is a shooting, or two, in DC alone. Whenever the police try to do something about it the good old ALCU comes to the rescue stating how this and that is some how unconstitutional. D--b C---s.. People being able to live without fear of losing their life is not important to them but God forbid somebody's "rights" are so-called threatened.

The most basic human right is to be able to live without fear of harm.

No. The police were simply performing checks at various checkpoints late at night. Anyone who passed through there was checked. I forget the city it was in. They recently tried a similar tactic in DC. The ALCU has complained about that as well. Something that as a teenager in Australia I went through many times.

The US has a huge problem with crime, especially inner-city crime. Groups like the ALCU are part of the problem and offer no solution apart from questioning whether something is constitutional. Regardless of the outcome or context of the police's actions.

Trying to protect peoples', kids' and families actual lives, and freedom to live, is a bit more important than the inane ALCU's causes. I think most people in other OECD countries would stand by that.

If I remember rightly that was the story where the police set up road block checkpoints on certain streets and challenged drivers and pedestrians coming and going.

I'm not really surprised it was challenged to be honest...

I don't see the ACLU complaining about police checkpoints throughout Chicago. I do see them complaining when certain motorists are singled out for no apparent reason.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

The most basic human right is to be able to live without fear of harm.

The ALCU does not care about that. To them it is all about their warped perception of rights. They use laws written in the 18th century to defend actions of the 21st. Even the most liberal of liberal professors I know back in Australia always ridicules the ACLU and their lack of perception, of reality.

I'll give the ALCU a news flash.. Most people living in OECD democratic nations have rights. The huge difference is that people's security and right to live comes first. So, for example, if there is a ghetto, a region, which criminals endanger people's lives; the police have the right and power to act. Not the other way round, as is the case in the US of A.
