It hasn't even been a full week since my NOA2, but I've called the NVC IVR so much that I know the IVR sequence and my USCIS receipt number by heart.

I thought today I'd see if the live operator knew any more than the IVR (didn't expect it, but thought it was worth a try).

I had heard that NVC operators were friendly, and mine absolutely was. Didn't spew out their ID number like USCIS, and actually sounded friendly and helpful.

Didn't brow-beat me for calling in sooner than a week. Just calmly informed me that it wasn't in their system, and that I should give it another week.

So if anyone's afraid of calling NVC (when they actually need to), don't be afraid. They don't bite.

Well, there are a few witches and such working there, so don't be surprised if one of them gets your call. ^_^

What I found while we were at the NVC was that the night crew was a lot friendlier and more helpful than the day crew.

08/08/07 - Case Complete

09/27/07 - Interview, visa granted

10/02/07 - POE

11/16/07 - Received green card and Welcome to America letter in the mail

Removing Conditions

07/06/09 - I-751 sent to CSC

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview
