My man and I are currently getting everything ready for him to come to the US. We are not yet married, but we are trying to do that as soon as we can. As soon as we are married I will get the resident visa. Will the embassy in Santiago let us set up an interview date without me having the visa yet? or will I have to wait until I have the visa in my hand?? Also, I won't have had the residence for 6 months, will that be a problem?? I really just want to be home in the US for Xmas, and I want my man with me, is there anyway that I can get everything done like super fast and make that possible???

The 6 mos. residency requirement is pretty much a hard and fast rule nowadays...

What he said. However, some countries are more lenient in what they consider legal residency, so if you've lived in Chile with a work visa or similar, you may have a chance.

hmmm. I have been here since January but only with a tourist visa, and I left to Argentina when my 90 days was over and came back.

I already looked at what is required in Chile, they do DCF. I just wanted to know if they are lenient with that rule.
