I have a funny story. We were in a motel in Florida, and Ibrahim got out of the shower and was standing at the bathroom sink. He sees a blowdryer attatched to the wall and plugged in. He says, 'habibi what this is for?" I said, ' It is a hair dryer.'

I hear it start and keep going and I'm thinking, this man is almost bald..what the heck is he doing. He's standing there wearing a towel and blow drying his chest.

i got u beat ha, mine hadnt pack more clean undies so he hand washed and was using the dryer to dry them so he could wear again

I think you are right.. .You just can't beat cleaning and speaking in a foreign language lol - that French is a killer! lol

Ok girls I just did an in store poll on the guy's doing housework being sexy thing and the result is that these ladies here(in the store) are just glad theyre husbands/men are helping period! My personal take on this is that theyre men are white american guys...and we got hot french/arabic etc.. speaking guys LOL

Well, mine cleans, too...he's especially awesome with a vacuum. What makes it totally zexy is he does it with an Argentine accent. hehehe :blush::dance:

I love to hear Argentinian accented Spanish - it melts my hear. It was funny when i met my hubby we communicated in Spanish only and his accent was more of a "Castillano" sort when mine is pure Mexican - no totally lost it with the Latin American influence here in Queens

Hehe...yeah my DH is so cute and when I hear him speak it is just adorable - plus his family is half-Italian so his Spanish, like most Argentines sounds like he is speaking Italian. Makes me blush just thinking about it. yummmmmmy!

You are sure right about that! I think they really enjoy cleaning when they discover the cleaning gadget like vacuums ... I know mine loves it ... esp when it clogged - loves to take it apart then repair it then clean with it LOL! Add the foreign language and/or accent Oooo la laaaaaaaa!

My husband cleans, and I never actually do the dishes  but he can't fold laundry for the life of him so I do that one

But I have to say, I love it when he said he wanted to make enough money one day to get me a cleaning lady to help out so I never have to clean again (he knows I really hate it :innocent: )

It's even kinda cute that he wasn't really sure about the bigger bed bc he wanted to make sure he could still reach me at night to know I'm sleeping next to him :luv: I told him it we would be sleeping in the same bed and I could still sleep next to him, but this way I could also have my space if I needed it... sorry, but a full matress when one of the people is 6'4" is just not working for me

The stories are too cute. :luv:

I always feel like the experience my husband will have here will be through the eyes of a small child.

For him to learn and experience so many things that he hasnt had the opportunity all his life...me I am just going to live through all those fun things again and with so much eagerness and wonder.

I am happy for all of you and the only stories I could add would be at some point if and when I could have the chance to live with my husband.

I am just praying for that :innocent:

I just love to hear my husband speak...that just puts me on cloud nine...he and his exotic accent BUT

what I love most is when he speaks to me in Arabic around other people, and I pretend like I understand..LOL

but really I dont!

just a little something between us two

I hope I can learn arabic too....when I met my husband 3 years ago, I never realized to what extent he understood english. We met online and it was hard to determine that right away. But looking back, I realize he knew the tiniest bit!

Now I am so proud of myself because he went from the english of 2 (being the lowest level) to a nice 8 as to what he can really understand and speak.

Way to go baby, and you arent even here yet!!

I really can't wait for our new bed, maby I could get some good sleep. Last night was so cute though that I had to post it :luv:

My husband has been sick and I made him stay home from work yesterday, so he decided he wanted to cook dinner for me when I got home. He knew there was a TV show I wanted to watch so he sat on the couch with me and fed me dinner :luv:

He started to fall asleep shortly after and was passed out on the couch next to me. When the show was over it was my turn to feed him his medication and get him into bed, where he passed out sprawled over the entire bed for 12 hrs  needless to say there was quite a bit of shoving to make room before I could get into bed and not so much sleeping.

He woke me up this morning happy and smiley saying he had a good nights sleep

It was an amazing help and now I'm just telling everyone about the series.... They have 2 or 3 editions for your level of comprehension and it rocks for those who are not "readers" because there's not much to read, it's mostly pictures....

And yes... he does... A lot of job applications went out and I believe the reason there weren't call backs was because of his name.. So I put it to the test.. My younger brother was looking for a job.. he's 20 and I put applications in for him at the same place... Dropped them off on the same day... One is 26 years old living next door to the job and the other is 20 living 20 +miles away... One with college, lots of experience and references, and the other with just a high school education and little experience (my bro) and guess who got called back??

You got it, my brother!

But it's okay, I've outsmarted them :P Using "Joe" as a first name and gotten called back that way - And they don't see green card or social until they've already hired them and they are confirming and making copies for files, so at that point if they back out, it's definite discrimination and well lawsuit time  I work in HR, so I know the drill.. Just a sad world we live in ... But it's his name and I'm proud of it :)

That is a great suggestion Ash!

And not trying to be funny, but does your SO get alot of problems for his name being Jihed?

I was reading a study years ago about african americans experiencing the same thing and the study showed that "LaKiesha" got WAY less call backs than "Sara".

I loved reading everyone's cute stories! hee hee

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Yeh it's definitely a sad world, but all you can do is try your best to work around it and then like I said if after seeing a green card or social security card they are going to change their mind about hiring, well we know how to proceed  He might not work in that place, but we may own it
