Hello fellow VJers.

I was a lil bit confused in answering the I-485 forms. I got here on a fiance visa and got married. I know that for my last name, I shall put my married name. But for my middle name, must I put my maiden surname.

For example, I'm Angel M. Santos and I married Dan Wright.

My Last name will be Wright and my middle name will be Santos?

Am i correct?

pls help.

Thanks so much and God bless us All.

No, you don't have to. I come from a country where we do not have middle names. When I applied, I put my first name and my married last name. My maiden name I used only as an answer to question about "other names used". Simple as that. If you want to keep our middle name as is, do it.

We never thought much about it. We just did it. Just like you. Never had a question.

Obviously, that's not the way we do it here in the USA...

You are right, better to do that way upon filing your AOS rather than AFTER because that would be another fee if you change it later.

Goodluck and God bless...
