hey everybody!!!

i tried to research my concern on this forum but i failed (maybe i didnt try hard enough lol)

anyways here's my concern:

my husband and i are going on vacation to my country and maybe visit another country also, and we'll be out in the US for at least 2 months... my concern is about my GC... would there be a problem going back to the states for being out of the US that long? or should i be fine? i have a 2 yr GC that will expire july of next yr 2009 (though i know il lift the condition 3 months before the expiration date)

should be fine. They're usually only concerned with absences over 1 year.

hi RonMay!

i learned during my CFO seminar if you are a GC holder you can go out from the US but you need to inform the department of homeland security i think if im not mistaken... i lost my handbook about this. I wish i could share it. just wait for the other's reply then. goodluck! (L)

You'll be fine for 2 months vacation. We just recently went back to Manila for 3 months vacation and no problem in POE when we get back. I just bring my greencard with me and marriage certificate just in case. As being advised we are allow to leave the country not more than 6 months.

i was out in the US last yr but only for 2 weeks and it went fine in my poe... im just not sure w/ the 2 months (if ever we'll go for it... hard to find a house sitter lol)... but you guys gave me a peace of mind that its ok... THANK YOU
