I've been having horrible nightmares. I wake up trembling or screaming and dont' want to go back to sleep. I am thinking it's just the incredible stress I'm under right now.

Hubby sleeps like a log.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I haven't noticed a change in the amount of nightmares I usually have.

I don't have bad nightmares very often. I have weird dreams or stressful dreams once in awhile, but very scary ones don't happen a lot. My scary dream theme the past couple years has to do with tornadoes. I had a tsunami dream not long ago too. I am not good with flying but I will do it, yet I never have scary airplane dreams. My dreams that scare me are more about things I have never experienced, like tornadoes.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

My anxiety level shoots up when I have a flight booked....and have reoccurring nightmares of watching planes crash...I'm never on them, just stand there and watch them fall out of the sky :(

Other than that I don't have them.

I had dreamt few times too where I've witnessed planes fall out of sky. Weird.

Has anyone woke up sobbing from a vivid dream? It happened to me just today.

I once woke up laughing, does that count :P

But I have seen my grandma sobbing in her dreams or muttering something.

About nightmares, I don't really get that much of sleep to get any dreams. I am mostly insomnic on most of the nights, but do remember getting one a couple of months ago, and it was all some horrible creatures running after me, they were taking off my skin and then sucking the blood of out me and would stitch my skin back

Wow! Blood sucking, skin removing creatures! Sounds like a Clive Barker movie.

Speaking of grandmothers...I once dreamt of seeing my grandmother walking down the hallway of the house I lived in as a child. She had lived with us for about a year before she died. She looked radiant, like a soft lavender light around her and she was very content. Before she died, she was a nervous nelly.

my hubby said when he was a kid he woke up in the middle of the night and he saw his grandfather (who had died a few months before) standing in the hallway...

I thought to myself that maybe he just was dreaming our imagined it... but then a few weeks ago his brother was talking about seeing his grandfather when he was a kid :o and I said hey David said he saw him too... and I think even his sister said she remembers seeing him walking down the stairs or something... creepy...

Hmmm...maybe there's something about hallways?

I read a book about a man who can communicate with the dead. He said that loved ones who passed on, will often communicate to us through dreams.

Are you trying to find out if the general population of VJ as a group is experiencing an increase in nightmares? If that were happening, why do you think that might be?

Yes.... I had noticed a lot of posts mentioning nightmares so I wondered if others were experiencing an increase in them too.

Krikit ~ Are either of you taking any medication? Some meds can cause nightmares/bad dreams, or simply more vivid dreaming.

Now that you mention it.... we were on a cruise ship recently and had been taking an anti-nauseant once in a while. Maybe it was withdrawal symptoms?

I've woken up laughing or crying lots of times. But, holy #######, Silent! That's some nightmare. :o Sure hope I don't have nightmares about your nightmare!

had one on the weekend.. i had flown into LAX for some reason (never been there in my life) and a plane was flown into the side of the airport (wonder where I got that idea), anyway i called hubby in the dream to let him know i was on the opposite side of the airport and was unhurt - then a tsunami came from out of no where and hit the airport..

OMG, I laughed out loud at that one. That's hilarious. You escape one disaster, only to be sideswiped by another. Too funny. (No offense, E.)

I've heard that too. I've also heard that you can determine the difference between a visit and a dream.... dreams are usually forgotten pretty quickly.... visits are remembered for years with detail. I've had visits by loved ones who have passed on.... they always make me feel better.

Interesting....because it was so many years ago and one of the few dreams I remember after all these years. My other grandmother (mom's mom) had a dream of my oldest brother 'walking up stairs on clouds' just days before his untimely death at the age of 9.

I also once had dreamt about some very close friends whom I had not been in contact with for many years. In the dream, my close friend who I grew up with and considered my sister - I saw her alone with a child and living home with her parents (last time I had seen her was at her wedding years before). I later found out from one of my brothers who ran into her mother, that her husband had committed suicide. She and their only child were currently back living with her parents. I'm thoroughly convinced that dreams are much more than our anxieties manifesting themselves into visions of the mind. There is definitely something more to it.

I totally agree. Gosh, I could tell you so many stories. The one about your brother, though, reminded me of a friend from years ago. She and her husband were laying in bed one morning, talking. Then they both saw her deceased father at the bedroom door saying "It's alright. He's with me." They looked at each other then went to check on the baby. He had passed away in his sleep.

Ohhhhhhhhhh my... :((F) I've read about many people have similar experiences. I actually find comfort that we have some kind of connection with the deceased. From what I read in the book about a man who can communicate with the dead, our loved ones are very close to us...often right next to us, especially in times of need.

Oh bless, what a sad story. Moved me to tears. (F) And also what you said, Steven. About the dead loved ones being close. As you probably know, my Mom is very sick and she might die soon. It's so hard on me, especially because I feel like she is the only person that I have history with and who knows me best. I find comfort in your words, although they just moved me to tears.

And the posts also reminded me on a dream I had a few years back, when I was still living with my Mom in an apartment building. I dreamt that the neighbour from upstairs knocked on our door. When I opened, he didn't say anything and only pointed at the other neighbour's door (an old couple lived there). The door opened and you could not look into the apartment, behind the door it was pitch black. The next day we found out that the husband, who lived with his wife in this apartment, had died during that night. Very sad.

I don't think many many people have a third eye, a sense for those things.
