I don't know how many horse enthusiasts there are here, but I am one. I have ridden for many, many years, studied dressage for a while and used to compete in hunter-jumper competitions at local horse shows. The attached video is one of the most incredible displays of dressage I have ever seen - near perfection. For those who love to see poetry in motion, treat yourself to this spectacular performance and try to realize that this is a young horse - 9 years old is considered very very young to be doing dressage at this level and to perform to this degree of perfection is unbelievable.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Throw in a smoking monkey as the rider and you'll get comedy gold.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I love horses and I think they are one of the most graceful creatures on this earth. However, I feel that this just isn't natural. Horses should be galloping, not prancing around because someone tells them too.

I dunno, I just felt a little ill watching that, really. But then I feel that way with horse races too, like the Grand National etc etc

Even though I work with dressage horses for a living, I'm inclined to agree with you. It can be very hard on them, mentally and physically, to get to perform on this or the grand prix level. It's beautiful to watch them do it but sometimes I think it's not worth it.

I feel the same way about racing too. I felt horrible when Eight Bells fractured both her front ankles in the Kentucky Derby this year. She was trying so hard, finished the race, and came in second to boot. Breaks my heart. They shouldn't be running them when they're that young. They're still growing.
