a yes portugal...

poor costa rica.. they lost... and not to try to deter the topic but did anyone notice that miss costa rica was crowned miss world paegant or something like that but the real winner was miss russia? what a disappointment.

:yes: you are correct...i guess, i am so use to past american efforts, that i have little confidence in them..yes..one year they did okay///but most of the time they are piss poor

I enjoyed the portugal and agolia match today. I watched it on ESPN but why I enjoyed it so much was they had a british and irish annoucner. I really truely felt it was a international match. It was a breath of freash air to listen to someone that knew something about soccer and did not compare it to american sports like baseball or horsracing etc.. Like Shep messing did. I like him and he was a great keeper but it should not be compared to american sports. Your comparing Apples to bananas..

I truely enjoy the British game calling and I am a true fan of TOBY Charles. I hope I get to hear a match that he will call..

Carola, I will be rooting for Italia in case Brazil is out and they don't....

But I think I know why you are always rooting against Brazil...Probably it has something to do with an event related to Roberto Baggio :whistle:

I have to say that the match Argentina and Ivory cost has been the most entertaining game so far in the WC and Argentina is my second favorite team after the Italian one. So I really believe that they are to make it trough the WC

Oh God I didn't know that people here could realize that I am rooting agains Brazil :blush: , Lisz I think you're right about the Baggio thing. :yes: that was a really hard thing on the Italian fans.

BUT I know that Brazil has the best player in this WC.

i dont think many americans realize how big soccer is around the world

i dont think they even know they have a very good team this world cup and have a good chance of qualifying for at least quarter finals..

man portugal sucks.. they are more worried of showing off (ego war between figo, cristiano ronaldo and pauletta) rather than playing good.. mexico is gonna qualify for sure.. they will beat portugal :thumbs: and angola of course

Yeah I agree that those two called the best game out of the ones I have watched. Shep Messing sucked big time I hope he doesn't do any other match I watch.

I hate football...but I am damned sure going to enjoy getting out of work early to (not) watch it!

Yes, my office is closing early for the England match on Thursday. Since I am American, there is some debate as to whether I get to go home early today and be the one who covers the phones (and plays World of Warcraft) on Thursday.

In our household, it is a crime to call it Soccer. The terms are Football and American Football.

USA will win today, I hope. :dance: I'll be at work, so I won't be able to watch it, but it was set on the DVR for when I get home.
