Inspired by the poll on doing an LDR again. Assuming your SO wasn't in the picture, what would be your choice? Single? Or would you seek a spouse, either in your home country or not? If the worst happened and your relationship ended, would you remain single (assuming someone didn't happen along to change your mind)? Or would you actively seek a new relationship, either in your home country or not?

Myself, I've always known I wasn't geared for bachelorhood all my days; that's just not how I'm wired. 35 years of single life was far too much for me. As it was, I'd started measuring how long it had been since my last relationship in terms of how many presidential administrations had passed :P

Now, having been married nearing four years, I'd never willingly go back to being single. As God said in the Garden, "It is not good for the man to be alone."

I voted but I would like to add my own to it... I would not want to be single but I would let GOD find me someone...

I do believe God brought Lai and me together. Our actively seeking spouses ("spice"? Mouse/mice, spouse/spice?) was part of the means He used to accomplish that.

In 2005, I had had enough of looking for guys without GOD finding the one. Through prayer and giving my will over to GODS Will, I asked the LORD to help me let Him take control and find my future mate and let me focus on the LORD. Oct 2005 HE led me to Adam! (L)

No "GOD" or "LORD" in my relationship.

I liked being a single guy. If I hadn't met Mags, I'd still be single. If Mags bailed on me, or otherwise wasn't here, I'd stay single.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Well I was single for more then 20 years, too busy with work, rising my boys and life in general. So I thought I never marry this late in life, so I choose to stay single for the rest of my life never thinking that GOD had some other idea! Like I would never in a million years would have believed that I would be going to Turkey (of all places) to meet my future husband! :hehe:

I meant that as a joke. People always say you'll find someone when you aren't looking, but for me, there never actually WAS such a time :P

I never actively searched for my hubby so I can't see myself doing that if for some bizarre reason I became single again...

but I think I would stay single... I really can't see myself with anyone but my hubby...

I am the non USC female and I chose to be single on both. My reasoning is that, I married young and I know as a teenager I never thought I would marry till I am 28 or later. Actually my dad was more offended that I am marrying young than I am marrying a foreigner :wacko:

So if it wasn't for my husband I would have remained single for another 2 years or so :P

not voting cuz first question is neither.

I would definitely not seek a husband. I don't see marriage as a business. I can't see me on purpose looking for love like I'd on purpose look for a partner for a company I own.

Also I wouldn't stay single on purpose, like I'm avoiding knowing people or love.

Second question stay single.

I'm sorry, it still feels like an odd question.

I'm assuming since you're all here, that means you must have found the one person you want to be with for the rest of your lives. It's based on that one person that you want to be with, not that you simply want to be in a relationship... otherwise you could have chosen anyone to be with.

I can't say what I would prefer out of single or being in a relationship... because it's about the PERSON, not the STATUS.
