Hello again,

I posted about this same question a few weeks ago. We are waiting for NOA2, but we already have everything needed for packet 3 ready, waiting on police report, etc, so that I can go over and verify everything is right with her papers before i leave Ukraine on my return trip to USA Sept 15th.

My fiance HAS a green 2 page Birth certificate from Russia, born in 1967, and used this to get an Internatioanl passport & fly to Turkey in 2005. My problem is that she was TOLD, by the woman who is helping her do packet 3, that she needed a new certificate, so she mailed to Russia, waitied 3 weeks, got a letter from them saying that her NEW Birth certificate was mailed to her local Ukraine town office, but its been 3 weeks and still has not arrived. maybe it never will, and I'm not even sure she needs it?

MY advice to her was NOT to worry about this right now, keep the OLD BC, and attach this letter from Russia with it, and if it doesn't arrive by the time of interview, include the OLD BC and this letter and just say it NEVER came.

MY way of thinking is that it was good enough to get a passport, so why wouldn't it be good enough for the Interview? I asked her and she hasn't had a chance to see this interpreter woman again, as she has gone away on vacation for a month after getting married.

I wanted to ask the KIEV consolate NOW if this is acceptable, as its the ONLY thing NOT finished in the package

Would I be able to run this by the consulate without a KEV # yet, as all i have is NOA1 number? What link would I use for contact?

Just want to kill another loose end, and PLEASE don't ask me again WHY she has to get a new Birth certificate? I have NO clue!!!This is what the Ukraine woman told her at the agency that helps woman process Visas, so maybe she had a good reason, who knows? Maybe she screwed up?

Thanks,

JB

Hello! If you want to email them...kyiviv@state.us and you will get a reply. You can give your NOA1 number but I do not think it will matter. They will answer you in 1-2 days. I cannot imagine why she would need another birth certificate. It sounds exactly the same as the one Alla has and that was fine.
