Hey Guys,

Finally in states with hubby...

We arrived about 25 days ago,and have to travel back to India as an family emergency..

Need your input/expert advice....

Hubby still has not received his green card nor social via mail.. We just received a mail stating that his biometrics has been lost and hence he needs to schedule an appointment.... we are leaving this sunday and today is friday....

we are planning to try out on of the office which mioght be open on Saturday...

has anybody gone through the same...

once all cleared with this issue, we plan to head out to india, can we travel w/out the green card and use the temproroay visa card which is on his passport and expires in december (will come back in november)...

please help...

but the I-551 stamp is like a temp green card and has an expiration date. from what i've read, its used until you get the real green card and as long as it isn't expired, you should be able to travel with it. hopefully, someone who has traveled with it will chime in
