Ok, so after more than 2 months of waiting and being told to wait by both USCIS and the NVC, I spoke to the people at the NVC and the lady on the phone told me to email her a scanned copy of my NOA2.

My question...now what? When can i call and see if they got it? What does me emailing them my NOA2 actually accomplish?

Thanks for your help and advice!

I'm only guessing here, but from what I know about government bureaucracy and lack of sharing information,

my guess is that NVC has no way of knowing anything about your case unless they receive it or can actually verify your NOA2.

In a way it makes sense that they would have no access to or interest in a USCIS case until it's been approved.

That said, since you're most likely emailing your NOA2 into a black-hole (if they're saying to use the NVC inquiry email addy)

I'd try to get the name or employee number of someone that you can follow-up with, so you're moving forward after sending the NOA2

Best of luck, and have a great weekend

Call them back in a day or two and ask them if they have received it. Once they receive your scanned NOA2, they will probably have to locate your case. I would suggest calling to keep the pressure on. Don't be afraid to be the sqeaky wheel.

I think it's a good sign you weren't told to file an I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition. The filing fee is $140 on that.

The same exact thing happened to me last year...CSC (USCIS) lost our paperwork! CSC said they sent it, NVC never received it.

By emailing or faxing them a copy of your NOA2, they can see that you've been approved and forward the information on to the US embassy in Japan. Then the emabssy can send out the necessary paperwork and information that your fiance needs (it'll all be in both Japanese and English) as well as a list of doctors for her to choose from for the medical exam. Without NVC sending the info to the embassy, the embassy won't do anything.

Get them a copy of your NOA2 as quickly as you can so they can move forward and good luck to you both!

Ask if you can fax the NOA2 to a specific person at NVC....the email is taking upwards of two weeks to get to.
