My NOA2 for k3 expires in September, i hope they schedule an interview before it expires...is there an expiry on CR/IR1 NOA2?

For CR1 there is no expiry date ..

You are USC or your wife is USC ?

Dont worry about the expiration date the CO automaticly extends the date.

K-3 belive it or not has a very short shelf life. CR1/Ir1 2-3 years maybe even longer

shelf life.

You might want to consider places that he wont have problems

getting a visa in or places that he wont require a visa.

It is not true that you need a report from every country you traveled. Police report required in case if the visa applicant live there for more than six months.

Pakistani can easily go everywhere in Fareast that includes (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Taipei, Bangkok) also in Middle East (United Arab Emirates).

It is been a long time but In 1997 I went to Singapore, Dubai as Pakistani citizen with Visa on arrival thing. You guys can go Iran as well without any issue.

Javed never travled before. he was denied a visa to those places. we tried.

we wanted our honeymoon some place else..

correct me if im wrong

Shelf life = the validity of approval

its when the K-3 becomes Usless. fizzles and dies.

The visa Adjudication Process- Flow chart

1. The process starts when the applicant schedules a visa interview.

2. Applicant goes to post

3. Us. Embassy./ U.S. consulate- consular section

4. Applicant is reviewed by consular officer and name entered into CLASS. Applicant interviewed at post.

5. Consular officer deterimines if the applicant is eligible to receive the visa, including using discretion to determine if a security advisory option <SAO> maybe needed: this would include looking on the Technology Alert List < TAL> to see if field/ area of study of applicant falls under TAL.

6. If SAO is not needed then…consular officers decide to issue or deny the visa.<<<< the end >>>> OR

7. If SAO is needed…..then Inter- Agency Mantis check.

8. Security Advisory Opinion prepared and forwarded to post.

9. Consular officer then decides to issue or deny visa to applicant.

Thank for the insights Shonnie. We'll take this all into consideration. $$ of course plays a role in our decision too... sigh. I miss him.

According the the packet 3.5, you need police certificates from places where:

1. You stayed after you were 16 AND

2. You lived there for more than 6 months.

Thanks!
