Psoft, Thanks for sharing... I had noticed the different spellings but never thought much of it other than it being a different spelling due to transliteration... this is the first I have heard of this.

I called DOS yesterday and got this really rude and (I don't know how else to describe how she sounded other than) just plain dumb woman who told me the case is pending - I told her I know that, that is why I am calling - to get an update on the pending case!!! she said it's still under admin processing at ISL - I told her its at DOS, I was told before - she said, well yes but it's still pending checks - I gave up at that point. I sent a really long email to the attention of the consular officer about the specifics of our case and asking if these checks would be the last of it and how much longer I should expect the process to take, and this morning, received the standard little blurb they send out about how the case is still undergoing admin proc and can't predict how long the delay will be...

AAAGH - I knew it would be harder to separate after so much more bonding time, but I never thought it was going to be THIS hard :crying: this past week that i've been back has been almost as hard as the entire five months of separation before that.... I'm actually considering looking into some jobs in Kabul...

just out of curiosity, how do you all find out the specific visa review meeting date?

praying for speedy visa issuance for us all - and may Allah help Brother BBR and his wife and give her a speedy recovery insha'Allah.

Hello all,

Just wanted to say, I'm bursting at the seams with excitement right now. I'm frantically trying to finish up last minute details with work/home, etc.., and pack. I head off to Pak tomorrow to see my SO. It will be so wonderful to see him - and all his friends and family.

I'll be thinking of you all while there -short trip (sigh) but better than nothing. Everytime I pass the embassy I'll send thoughts wishing they would speed the process for everyone! Best of luck with the processing. I hope to hear happy news for each of you when I return.

Thank you for all your support and experience. Wish me easy travels! :D

It was found out by someone calling the embassy and was told case was in meetings. Shon and I know that the embassy and DOS meet the last week of every month and first week of following month. So not sure of date but the last known date was the first Thursday of April. So hopefully it is on Thursdays? Not sure. And if your in AP they will not tell you anything. Hang in there Omid.

Need some words of wisdom from U guys once my wife will get package 3.5. Anythings specials we have to take care or just sign papers and send them back to embassy in order for them to schedule our interview.

Here is list of the documents I will send to my wife for our interview.

1) DS-230 (completed and filled out with Adobe Acrobat Pro, since I've heard they prefer and may require typewritten or computer filled application rather than hand-written application forms)

2) I-864 Affidavit of support (it is for CR1/IR1 only completed and filled out with Acrobat, and notarized -- this form must be notarized)

3) My last year's 1040, last year's W-2, tax transcripts from tax years 2003-2005 3 years)

4) A dated letter on company letterhead from my employer stating how long I have been working for them, position and job title, annual salary, and detailed employment history 5) Copies of our last journey itineraries during my last trip to Pakistan (Visa stamped, Passport copies, hotel receipts)

6) Copies of phone bills with my calls to her highlighted

8) Receipts of money I transferred to her

7) Her birthday cards, wishing cards to me and mine to her.

8) Wedding photographs. (Three albums, which include wedding reception, valima)

9) Photocopies of wedding certificates and other papers related to marriage.

Please add anything if I skip something.

Thanks,
