quick question - how long are medical exams good for?

Omid,

Medical exams are good for one year. Right when I was beginning to worry about having to redo the medical cause it was close to expiring ( hubby was on AR forever) I called DOS to check on status and was told that all checks were completed and to call embassy . Called embassy and was told that they had been trying to reach us for days (which I believe was a lie cause my husband had not gotten ANY calls from them, nor had I ) and wanted to know if my husband could fly to US within the month to avoid redoing the medical?? Normally you have 90 days before you have to travel and have enough time to tie up loose ends but I said of course he can! They did make him redo all the police reports though before he could leave , which was a big pain in the butt cause they had done all this redistricting --Nankana Sahib became its own district --before it was district Sheikhupura --and he only had a few weeks to travel all over the country to get all this done. However, it was worth it to get that visa in hand finally. If anyone has a medical close to expiring I would call embassy and get senator/ congressmen's office to call and put pressure on them to bring it all to a close since they have had so much time to complete all checks etc. I know that is easier said than done though. Good luck !

Jess

my husbands expires june 25th

I really dont think they give a poo. : (

husband and i are going to immagration laywer 2marrow and gonna start his papers also waiting on my 1 year visa extention .then im going to states for a few months yay

How is everyone??? I miss talking to you all!

Everything good here except a lot of morning sickness that lasts all day long! So, between the puke spells that send me running to the bathroom or nearest trash receptacle and trying to keep 2 kids entertained, along with hubby there isn't much time for anything else! Tons of adjustments!

Ok quick update on our case we applied for AOS in beginning of February and have our interview May 9th. I dont want to reschedule so wish us luck (esp. me-i hope i dont get too sick on the way there or during the interview! I can just see myself using the interviewers trash can cuz I get sick I would just die!) I am not sure what they will need from us as we have submitted everything they have asked for. Another affidavit of support, biometrics fee, EAT app. and we were told by USCIS that medical is good for a year after he entered the U.S. So we are set- Or so i think? We are a bit nervous but very hopeful too. I will let you all know how it goes.

I am sorry to see that some of you are still waiting! Good luck!

I am happy for those who have their loved ones home at last-just remember it will only be a matter of time for those of you who are still waiting so dont give up hope.

Take care and God bless

Jennilynn

Jennilynn glad to hear that your AOS is moving along. Sorry to hear that your morning sickness is giving you problems all day long, take care and stay hydrated. I know I had to eat ice pops for a few weeks when it was so bad with me. Keep us posted and good luck on your interview and pregnancy.

Imran,

I have two kids that keep me on my toes. Homework, housework, errands and working in the yard some now. Will not be too long and time to add a few more flower beds and oldest is due for his next surgery on June 1st. It is never a dull moment around here.

Hope everyone is having a good week and look forward to hearing from ya"ll. :P

Mary

Man, American staff at Pakistani embassy must be very happy in Pakistan because they are entitled to have all Pakistani holidays like

Muharram Holiday = 9th, 10th (1st Month of Islamic calendar)

Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday = 12th Rabiul awal (3rd Month of Islamic Calendar)

Labor day = May 1st

Pakistan Independence Day = August 14th

Plus unannounced holiday due to prospect terror attacks or when Bush cabinet says today is “Orange Alert” or “Red Alert” Day.

As well All US holidays!!

Christmas December, 24th, 25th

Memorial Day May 29th Blah Blah -----

Seems to me that they just want to chill !!

I posted this in the other ISL forum as well...

I had a potential k-1 applicant (afghan female who will be going through ISL) ask me a legal question re: a fiance/spouse immigrating here... a quick review of the law leads me to believe there is nothing that specifically addresses this but I figured I would ask here as well since there are many immig experts here on VJ and someone may know the answer... if someone illegally entered and was deported twice from a third country - would this result in a visa denial or require a waiver? Has anyone heard of a denial for such a reason? Or the need for a waiver? I was also suggesting to her to go over and get married and do a marriage visa rather than a K-1 considering it takes so long to get a K-1 processed (I'm going on over a year now), she might as well do that to avoid having to go through AOS here... what do you all think?

Omid you are saying this lady is going to marry someone that was deported from say UK? If so the waivers would not apply since he is not immigrating to that country if I am understanding you correctly. I have not heard of a denial but it will show up on his police reports from where he was deported. My concerns if he did get approved that he would have long AR/AP since he has something in the past to investigate whereas our fiance/hubbies are on AR/AP with clear records. This is just my take on what you wrote and I think this couple no matter what visa they apply for will have a long road ahead of them.
