CALLING ALL GOING THOUGH ISLAMABAD PAKISTAN- OFF TOPIC

Hi everyone. The trip went VERY WELL I had the time of my life. I got case complete on Feb 22nd I got to pakistan on the 23rd. Went to the Embassy on the 28th and was told to me on the 1st of March by the state dept that Isamabad has the case now and is processing the Cr1 so hopefully it will be soon, when I called the embassy again he said it will be soon very soon and they will call my husband. I will kepp bothering them till we get visa in hand. It's good to be home but wished I could have brought my husband with me. Best of luch to the ones that got visa in hand InshaAllah you will have have long happy life with the ones you love. Good luck to those who are waiting like me. Welcome back Sheila! Glad you had a good time... did you find going to the embassy was helpful at all? Were they receptive or not?

I booked my tickets last night My uncle is going to visit my grandfather so I figured this would be a good time so I'd have company along the way - I know it makes my family feel better also. Anyways - I fly out on March 27th and return on April 24th (hopefully with him) insha'Allah. I figured I'd make a trip to the embassy assuming it would help - if it's absolutely fruitless then I don't know about going to trouble of getting a visa for Pak, and then traveling from Afghanistan to Pakistan. I'm still hoping and praying that he gets his visa in the next few weeks so that I can just book his flight and not worry about going to the embassy. I figure by my return flight it will be another 6 weeks and that will be enough time for ISL to finish his K-1 insha'Allah.

we are still waiting for 3.5 packet too. but, you have been waiting alot longer than us I think. so call the embassy ask them what address they have on file with you. when we called them they had the wrong address. they have since re sent our packet we suspect we will get it this week.

omid good luck on your pending trip have a great time. you need to find out if the case is still at the embassy or DOS. if at the embassy your visit could be fruitless. because, the embassy has to send your case thought all the local checks - I realized the biggest hold up is interpol.

it took us 6 months to get finally cleared of all the security checks.

As for my weekly update I called DOS this am since Ishteaq had asked to call them and see if we had any changes? We are still at Islamabad with no changes on his status. I guess my best hopes is that they finish the checks or whatever and send it to DOS at end of this month.

we got a set back too the embassy. has to re send the packet. so we are not happy campers. its worse it feels like we are starting from step 1. with the dayum embassy. they just better hurry the he11 up and issue our dayum green card. I am tired of this syitt

Send them an email with your number that was assigned to you when you began the process. Just tell them you were approved on February 17th and wanted to know if the case is now at the embassy and the status? Put your full name, dob, and the case number. Good luck.

what you do to find out where your case is call NVC the automated system or the operater should tell

you if case is compleate and if so when it was sent to embassy. if sent to embassy the next step is

look on DHL website. track under REFRENCE .. type in I-730

thats the ref. for the diplomatic pouch look for dates from the day they said they case compleate

to current day. then see when they sent out documents to ISL. so far I can tell you

they sent a pouch out monday < 6th > and today tue < 7th > those packages should arrive on

Friday.

i emailed NVC a day before yesterday got email right now before 5 inutes, i even tried to call NVC number but their System was Down i tried many Times, so here the Reply of the Email they Sent to me

"Good Morning,

The NVC has completed its processing of the visa petition you mentioned in your letter and has forwarded the petition to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General for further processing.

Any further inquiries should be directed to the assigned US Embassy or Consulate General.

The NVC case number is ISL**********.

just quick note, wanted to inform you about Shahab and Dianes case.. they called him from Peshawar district to Islamabad for to ring documents and passport. Duas for them its been 2 years.

IM on 2 week vacation starting next week. hope to post more later. Adjusting kids and to culture. overall going well. some things he is amazed at(question) even been many times out of pk in other countries.. Poe was same questions how we met, where he is going to live, about 15 minutes in immigration, went through suitcases , did not read the medical or opent the x ray.

Been offered a teaching job at the Islamic center for the fall school year as the school is expanding .. math and science

i think that s it , im on the run

salams Cindi - glad everything is going well with adjustments and job prospects - alhamdulilah... I've been checking for SOMEONE to get some good news this week... I don't know Shahab and Diane but getting called in after 2 years sounds good to me Hopefully one of us here will be next insha'Allah!
