Mary - glad to hear your son is doing well...

okay - called DOS - why do I bother?? really, I'm not going to do it anymore... nice guy on the phone tells me ... case is AP ... over at embassy... no clearance requested... asked about FBI checks... told me every case is different... not to read into others' experiences with that... nothing in my file to indicate that's what's going on... noted that I was sent an email from the embassy ...

oh well ... it'll happen when it happens insha'Allah...

thanks for all the support everyone... I have really supportive family members as well but I don't think any of them really know what it's like, which is why I'm so grateful for all of you here

once the case leaves the embassy. this normally happens around the last week of every month. when that happens your case is placed in what is called a "visa review meeting" at that time the embassy peoples make their recommendation. if for " recommendation of approval" it then goes to DOS. at that time is when you bug the hell out of the DOS.

once at the DOS. then they do all their checks and blances. once all agree they send a cable to embassy for case compleate/ visa issuance.

Omid the down side is..

the embassy apprently can sit on a visa for as long as they want.

even if everyone concur with no objections. everyone meaning

I'm assuming both hubbies have stops somewhere along the way to the states... does it matter what country they stop in? i would imagine that ultimately it doesn't since they are in transit and they have a valid visa as well as confirmed flight to the states, right?

and Mary & Shon (and all similarly situated) I sent us all out some extra prayers last night - for quick reunions insha'Allah and in the interim, lots of patience

Okay everyone I tried to call DOS yesterday and never was able to get hold time under 20 mins. I tried this am and was closed until just little while ago for some reason. I finally held for 20 minutes instead of the 10 they said. Anyways, I talked to lovely Jackie. She said the only notes on my file is the email that I sent to them asking them to give us an answer to our processing past our 45 days. She asked me what did they reply I said they never responded. She said they must tell me something. I will be emailing Islamabad again in few minutes. Keep your fingers crossed someone tells us something soon.

yes lay over in London, they said he could be in london 24 hours then go on to Usa, he only there for 3 hours coming straight home after that

Laney he is at home now. We have to schedule larger more extensive surgery within one month. He is upset about the other surgery but is doing great from the one today. Thanks for asking and he is sitting by me and grinning ear to ear.

Shon emailed me and he was so happy she asked about him too. He said aww mom they are so sweet.

Cindy glad to hear Manny will be home in week and all about the upcoming marriage details. We are very pleased that you are finally being reunited.

Laney my kids and I are so excited for you too. I know it has been long AR and now you can finally look forward to visa in hand this coming Friday.

Omid I am sorry you are getting the same response on your calls to DOS and embassy. Hey I wrote the embassy and they never replied you did good to get a response. Hang in there and hopefully we will hear good news soon.

Shelia is getting ready to go to Pakistan. Wishing her a safe trip and warm reunion with her husband.

Atif was approved on his K1 at NVC this weekend. So good luck on your case going to Islamabad.

Now for my news. Still nothing from the embassy or DOS. I will try and call DOS again this afternoon or tomorrow for my weekly no information news.

Good news and Bad news for JP. They removed the growth from his ear and replaced an ear tube. Bad news is the major surgery will have to be scheduled in few weeks to month out. The cholesteatoma has returned and will need to have it repaired again for the 8th time. Dr. says surgery is too risky at this hospital and need to go to another one. Please keep us in your prayers.

Well Omid I still did not get a reply from the embassy. Am still waiting to hear back from the senator to see if they will get some type of response. I was amazed yesterday that DOS knew of my email since I had emailed once before and it was not noted on our case. If I hear anything I will post once I find out something either way.

Mary.. hopefully your senator can get you an answer - i'm so sorry that you are in this bizarre limbo with Admin review.. keep your chin up, your only a month behind us.
