so I called DOS, Raquel tells me that my case is at the embassy level for review, that a clearance request was sent on 1-6-06 and a response was sent back on 1-6-06 --- HUH???? ---- and that's all she knew... nothing else requested from ISL... is it possible that anything happens that quickly w/ immigration????

so I called back - had a few questions I didn't think to ask of Raquel - such as, does this mean all clear from DOS??? was it a name check??? something else?? I get this other lady - had maybe a philipino accent?? -- anyways... she puts me on hold... tells me she doesn't know where Raquel got that info cause she doesn't see anything... all she sees is that it's at ISL for review... that she doesn't know what info was sent out in the cable (if any sent out at all) - could say all clear, could ask for more checks....

HUH???? I don't know what to make of this... I think I just need to stop calling DOS - this is just contributing to my worry and confusion..... Tawakal to Allah - I just have to trust in Him.

Cindy, I talked to Ishteaq earlier and he said to tell you both that he is excited and congratulations on finally getting that visa in hand.

Shon, I see the CR1 has left the building. Today looks like a lot of good news. I am very happy for you and you should be at the embassy in one week.

Omid, I only call DOS once a week. You will be told different things from different persons and it will drive you crazy if you are not careful. I know I am emailing the embassy and Ishteaq will call them on Monday to see if we have any updates on our case. DOS only shows he interviewed on Dec 12th, cable sent to them on Dec 13th saying we are on AP. So hang tight and hopefully you will have good news soon too.

Laney lets hope that next week you have news of come back to Islamabad and pick up your shiny new visa.

As for everyone else I am praying for all those on this board and hope that we are all reunited with our loved ones soon. Amen.

My good news today was the PC is going to be fixed and back home tomorrow, inshallah.

once the case < hard copy leaves for ISL > they give you the interview.

in our case I hope they- finish the last bit of whatever required papers are and issue the dayum CR1. we have done all the security stuff and all the paper work. I hope by this time next month I will be kissing my sweet husband on the lips in public!!!!

since no more security checks are ordered wait for 1 month roughly

SALAAM ALL.WHew!!! Thanks for the great supportand well wishes. I havent been around VJ as much , had some family things needed straightened out, as well as stresssing over this visa, blah blahs. To keep my head about me, I started reading again, catching up on movies etc. He is making arrangements today to be here around the end of Feb / first of March. I'm making arrangements to go to Chicago to go get..and there is that little thing of rearranging the closets and all a (for the third time ). Still goimg to try to take it one day at a time. even though my head is spinning, nice to feel like going out again and sharing things with friends. ITs been a roughyear and a half , esp. last six months. Could not have done all without the support of VJ especially the sisters, and of course brother Dean. Inshallah, they will be keeping up with the cases and the momentum in Islamabad. HANG TOUGH, Stay healthy, keep on them
