oh ok, so where you been, have not posted for hours(days)

i think i am going to give it a month or 2 to see if that k3 goes through, alot of people who have had their NOA2 for k3 are still waiting for NVC to recieve their file. At the moment i am debating(of course with my self) whehter i should use james shortcut's to save some time or just let everything proceed normally.

I didn’t use James shortcuts but my NVC process took around 59 days to complete however I completed all paper ahead of time and used UPS overnight delivery (I didn’t lose a day meaning the day I received the papers from NVC I sent ‘em the same day). So what you do now try to collect every single paper you need it in future for NVC.

If you want NVC process move fast then On DS 3032 form select option ‘2’.

if you are the agent of choice the mail goes to you. but! you need to have alien spouse

send it the DS 230 < FEDEX> this document has to have THEIR signature on it.

I advise you to have it sent to you signed undated so this speeds up time.

also please use caution. because, your spouse may be asked for this paper again!!!!

one for NVC and one at EMBASSY . so if you are planning on creating your spouses signature

rember they will take another DS230 from them.

I would hate to see anyone charge with misrepresentation.

In option 2 select “I do not appoint an agent or attorney to receive about my mails. Mail from US Department of State Concerning my Immigration visa application should be sent at “Chicago address” in that way you can save some time. Who is asking u here to sign your wife’s fake signature? You can write in Signature of applicant box “signed by Petitioner” and then your name.

you do realize its the DS 230 that can place a person on AP/AR right?

its a tool for AR/AP for the men DS56..... whatever the hell that number is.

bottomline your spouse should send in the DS 230 and send it to where it needs to go.

the golden rule : dont make problems - wont be problems :bonk:

here is a time saving tip..

all the documents I have like forms or letters from congressman, interview letters. etc..

me and my husband have a JOINT yahoo account. we scan and place all important things there.

its a good place for you to saved scanned items there- the DS 230 and agent of choice papers. so when your spouse needs them - they can print up or view anything from there. saves on alot of mailing costs.

YOU GO GIRL

Petrol attendants from time immemorial have been men - young and old in Pakistan. The work is tough, the hours are crazy and the public dealing involved tests the nerves of even the most hardened of all.

This work is usually not associated with women, until now. Thanks to the efforts of a multinational petroleum company, even this barrier has been broken. If you want to be greeted by uniformed smiling women who would gently ask you for your car keys and fill the desired quantity of fuel, head off to one the company’s fuel stations on Sharea Faisal.

This is one of the only fuel stations in Pakistan that have managed to end the male monopoly. This was done a year and half ago when female employees were brought on.

25 year-old Farzana Ghulam is perhaps the city’s first woman to take up the challenge while seeking to do something ‘different.’ She admits that despite the time she has spent on the petrol pump to date, it is still not a socially acceptable job.

Having to put up with discomforting glances and long hours of standing has not been easy for her but the presence of her female boss, a co-operative team that includes other female colleagues, and a sense of security are the major reasons why she never thought of quitting.

When Farzana applied she was sure she could trust the work environment because her elder sister had been an employee in the supermarket at the station. Later when the owner of this particular station of Shell Pakistan, Ayesha Malik, decided to employ females at the fore court in the gas station, Farzana was eventually the first woman to be considered.

“The idea of hiring women at petrol stations was in my father’s mind for a long time and being a supporter of women empowerment myself, we mutually decided to bring them in the forefront. Our society is changing and women in all fields are gradually becoming acceptable. I’m sure in a few years time, one would start thinking differently because we ourselves have been noticing the change in our customers attitude since the females first joined,” says Ayesha.

Farzana was also made to train the additional female girls that were employed after her. “It was me who had to face the initial challenge and criticism from all sorts of customers that came by, the new girls got a readymade woman-friendly workplace when they joined,” she proudly adds.

Including Farzana and her younger sister Aasma, there are five girls working at the station most of whom are supporting their families. Their work is hard but they have lived up to the challenge.

The efficiency of all in handling the workload at the station is no less. Apart from filling the petrol with apparent ease, they maintain a record of the cars that visit, deal with accounts and also wipe the windscreen and rear screen of cars.

They are paid Rs5,000 along with a monthly incentive of Rs500 usually. “There are some people who really appreciate us and tip us up to 500 rupees, it feels nice to know that not everyone is as discouraging,” says Farzana.

Today Farzana is a public figure and people easily identify her in her red uniform. “Ms. Malik has been the soul motivation of us girls here. She taught us to confidently deal with people and discourage derogatory remarks and has handled the staff very well. In fact since we’ve joined a major change in the behaviour of other male colleagues has been noticed. They don’t use swear words while we are around,” she smiles. The women workforce, says Ayesha, is also more disciplined and punctual than their male counterparts.

Farzana said that she knows of women at other petrol pumps who quit a few weeks after they joined because they felt that it was not that simple to function in an environment that is traditionally male-dominated but Farzana was different. “I had always wanted to do different and have never feared challenges. I won’t say there haven’t been any obstacles since I joined but I must confess my biggest support has been Madam Ayesha...I think it is very necessary to have a female for a boss in the kind of place I am. She understands our issues and emotions better and the confident person I am today is because of her.”

Farzana seems dedicated to this job and says that even after completing her homeopathic degree, which is due in two months time, she would want to continue working here along with her practice in homeopathy. “I may change my shift at the gas station but have no plans of leaving any time soon,” she says.

A resident of Model Colony, Farzana says that her eight-hour long shift from 12-8pm suits her best, as she is able to study and spend some time with her family in the morning and at night. “I study for two hours in the morning before leaving for work,” says the diligent lady adding that she intends to apply for a Masters too.

Farzana’s mother passed away when she was seven years old after which she and her other siblings were raised by her father and elder sister. “I feel now it’s my duty to do something for them and help them by contributing in the family income, so my younger sister and I decided to take the bold step despite my relatives objection.”

She has been working since the age of 17 so that she could pay for her education and even today from the money she is earns, she is saving up for her further studies. “At one point in life, like every girl, I wanted to become a doctor but I couldn’t do well due to some disturbing circumstances at home. However I decided then to become a homeopathic doctor if not an allopathic one,” she adds.

Being the daring female that she is, Farzana says that as long she has her fathers consent to support her decision she does not care what her friends, neighbours or relatives think of her. Seeing her courage, one can only hope that more women would move into jobs that were taken only by men in the past and this would help change the mentality of other girls, who are shy or underestimate their capabilities. This further puts forwards one clear fact that as long as a woman is prepared to work hard and has a supporting family, there is nothing she cannot do.
