visa cancelled without prejudice

Hi fellows,

I saw numbers of post about name probs.....

I had been through some problem about it before. I received my VISA bearing my maiden name despite of the fact that is should be my married name, automaically it supposed to be.

I had my passport ammended just before I got my interview packet. I also send the ammended passport to NVC and my appeal to change my name to married name. NVC wrote me a letter of acknowledgement addressing my married name in the header which is nice.

I finally got my VISA corrected, picked it up 2 weeks ago. It took 2 days after returning the whole packet from Delbros and my passport. When I picked it up, there's no que for it seems that I was the only one to pick up a corrected VISA.

The thing is, the previous VISA they issued was kind of "uglish" because they stamp it CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE in bold letters with crescendo background, although the message is clear, in one look you will thought as if I had a CANCELLED visa. :( I just wished they just torn the previous VISA in my passport.

Anyway, this was my previous post: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry2040221

Until here and may the Lord bless our journeys.

its actually no big deal..you should be thankful you have your visa on-hand and the name change was just a minor glitch on the process.

I just wished they just torn the previous VISA in my passport.

to torn a page of a passport would make the passport INVALID.

Thanks fellows, ahhh wow I didn't realize it makes the passport invalid once there will be a torn page. I think I was just being immature about it.

I realized that it's no big deal :thumbs:

I'm really thankful that I had VISA finally on hand, despite that.. I will not fly to US. My husband is still in South Korea and his contract will not finish until June 2009. According to what I've learned here I am not required to go to the US to keep the process going because of the nature of my husband's work. He is a US soldier.

God bless everyone!!!

Hi Ruby, I don't think I will go to the US anymore, depends upon if my husband will stay in the Army or not. We have plans of staying here in the Philippines since we have some business running here. I heard that a US Army's wife is not required to go to the US in order to get the greencard process done. I don't know how to do it but I will research for more details, I hope to gather more infos from here.

I think your also an Army wife?

when will u fly to the states? i heard that VISA will expire in 6 months ..
