Contraceptives. Anyone?

Take the contraceptives. There's nothing wrong with it. If you're not ready for a baby, this is one of the most logical and accurate preventative measures.

I've never seen any real side effect from it in any relationship I've been in. One complained about weight gain, the other lost weight when getting on the pill and taking it for a while.

All it means is less blood, which is no fun.

Tell your man to just wear a condom. If he (understandably) whines about the lack of sensation, tell him to go bareback with a hooker once a week.

I don't trust condoms :P

I was on the mini-pill at first but I didn't like the irregularity of periods while I was on that. My doctor had no problems giving me a different type to try.

I HATE it. You also have to be really careful about taking it at the same time every day. I had to switch to it because the regular pills were giving me high blood pressure apparently. I'd like to look into another option though...

I usually take it within the same few hours, usually between 8 and 11.... or do you need to take them at the exact same time every day ?

That was not an option for us.. I do not want my husband to suffer and mostly, I wouldn't want him to go with a hooker.. Thanks anyway...

My doc told me I only have a half hour window, if I miss it then I have to use backup contraception for 72 hours.

Thank god you started this topic Candid witch, because I totally forgot I too have to start taking contraceptive pills by mid of september.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it true that one should start taking the pills a couple of months earlier to the.......let's say, starting your second/3rd/4th....honeymoon?

At least that's what my pharmacist told me, I don't remember the name of the pill she gave me, because its been more than a year that I last took those, but they didn't give me any side effects........or I can always blame my weight gain on them

YW Silent.. My husband is coming this October so my OB said that I should be starting this month. At least by that time, it was already in my system or we could replace it earlier if it is not suitable for me. :) I am worried with weight gain.. :P
