Contraceptives. Anyone?

Having a baby is not yet included in our plans as of the moment.

I have never taken any pills (contraceptive) in my entire life. My OB gave me a certain prescription but she told me about the possible side effects as well.

Knowing that the side effects are different in every patients.. Just want to ask who among you are using contraceptives and what type? How about the side effects? Is injectables good enough? Better than pills?

I would really appreciate your suggestions and shared experiences about the effects..

I'm very fortunate - the cheapest, most basic variety of contraceptive pill has absolutely no side effects for me, other than reducing pain and making my periods more regular! I have no problem with remembering to take a pill every day so this works best for me.

I was on the mini-pill at first but I didn't like the irregularity of periods while I was on that. My doctor had no problems giving me a different type to try.

Thanks.. The possible side effects keep on bothering me. My doctor said it is just normal till my body get used to it.. Have you heard about irregular blood spots? I will just start using pills this month. This would be a trial and error for me. The doctor said, she will change the precription she gave me if it is not suitable for my sytem? Have you experienced gain weight?

yes Lutera is a brand of bills..

you might have some spotting the first few months after taking the pills as your body gets used to them....

I HATE it. You also have to be really careful about taking it at the same time every day. I had to switch to it because the regular pills were giving me high blood pressure apparently. I'd like to look into another option though...
