Hello All,

I spent over three months in Peru from January - May. I tried to stay for the interview, but my job would not permit. I came back two weeks before the interview date. My fiancee has to go to the interview alone this tuesday, May 23rd. I am just now reading that Peru has an unofficial rule that the USC has to be at the interview.

The thing is, my relationship with my fiancee is the most genuine I have ever had:

We Met in Holland and spent 8 months together

She came to California to meet my family

I spent 3 months with her family in Peru

We have travelled to many countries together

This is all documented with tickets, receipts, etc. It shows in my passport that I just left Peru 11 days ago.

DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE A PROBLEM THAT I AM NOT AT THE INTERVIEW!?!?

:crying:

Please, tell me if you know of people in Peru getting their visas without the USC being there.

Where did you read that?

There was somebody here that was applying in Peru but I forgot her name... Although I also think she was there for the interview...

As far as I understand, you don't need to be at the interview unless the Embassy requires so... I would say, ask her to take as much proof of relationship as she has got, and not to show that she is nervous (in case she is)... They might pick on that...

I found her name... it is Jessibicho... if you check her posts that might shed some light...

Thanks anytaholland, I read the unoficial rule in this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4526

We have tons of proof of our relationship and my fiancee has been approved for a tourist visa and a work visa in the past. She even has a social security number.

I read through the interview documents from the embassy myself, and it said NOTHING about my having to be there.

off to check out Jessibicho...
