Counter Checks

I got home from work yesterday and had my entire original submission package returned. I thought I had read everything very carefully. The reason my package was returned was I used a counter check from my bank. You see I have not used actual paper checks in years so I had none. Apparently the counter checks do not have the proper encoding on them to be accepted by USCIS. I guess I should have sent a cashiers check from the beginning but I really did not think this would be a problem. Just a warning for those of us that may have checking accounts but really don't have or use checks anymore.

I counter check is when the bank gives you a check written from your account with your numbers on it. The problem is it's not magnetically encoded. It is still a personal check you just don't get them by the book.

Yeah I know it's really not that big of a deal. I already sent it back out. It was more of a #######?
