As I know, passport renewal takes like getting a first time passport.

1 week is 750pesos while 2weeks is 500pesos.Before,the rush is 3days lng but since the passport is new..they changed it from 3days to 1week rush.Regular is 2weeks.

Passport pic background color is royal blue now.And it's machine readable now.

:star: hello, can i ask, how long the passport renewal??? (the sooner the better) and if i can renew my passport even its not exprired yet?, Thanks

If you will renew ur passport tru agency, rush filing is 7 working days from the date of appearance & regular filing is 10 working days from the day of appearance also. Don't know how many days if u will renew personally. YEs, you can renew ur passport even it's not expired yet.

Hi,

When i renewed my passport last February, it took 3 weeks from the first time i visited the DFA (to think when I applied for change of status--my passport was not yet expired that time-- I used my privilege as government employee and paid Php750, meaning it should be expedited but I learned due to change of system (machine readable passport) process takes longer. They have different process now. You will go there first to get a schedule then you will come back on the scheduled date to submit your docs such as old passport and marriage cert plus you need ID (this is for change of status); for new applicants you need the birth cert, marriage cert (if married), nbi and IDs (at least 2). After submitting your docs, you will pay and on the receipt they will put the date to be issued. So all in all, you need to go to DFA for 3 times!

Usual wait is 14 days. I had mine done thru my cousin's travel agency. Apparently, since the new passports are machine-readable, you may need to make a personal appearance, more so if you are renewing your child's visa (if you have a child, of course). Also, passport renewals for fiancees or spouses of foreign nationals now require a CFO certificate before they grant you a new passport. And you will not be allowed to leave the country without that certificate too.

You still have a lot of time but go ahead and get to it. :)
