Should I re-do my medical first, before I file AOS next month?

My husband and I are filing AOS next month, the papers are all ready,I'm just waiting for him to come home (he's in Iraq). I had my medical last year, June 2007 in Philippines. As I understand it already expired, if we're to follow the 12months validity. My question is, can I go ahead and file the AOS, and just wait if they'd require me to get medical exam again or should I go ahead and get one now before we file AOS next month?

Also, I just find out (here, while reading posts)right now that there's a new requirement for additional vaccines for those who seeks to file AOS, should I get those too?

I just can't find the links. Please provide me more information or links. I appreciate any help. Thanks! :)

11-12-2008 Sent AOS, EAD, AP via USPS

11-13-2008 USCIS received the papers @ 3pm!

11-20-2008 3 NOAs

01-05-2009 Recieved Biometrics Letter on mail

Since the medical exam is only good for a year, it may be wise to get it done now before you file for AOS instead of waiting for a RFE which will delay your case.

I suggest you to go ahead and do the medical before you apply and send everything together....because your case can get really delay because that....in my case tooke than 4 months to ask me for a new medical examination because mine was expired or they did lost mine papers...so i believe that your case goes faster if you have everything in hands......

Best to go ahead and have the civil surgeon do the medical. Maybe cheaper if you get the vaccinations done at your health department or your own doctors. Take records of such plus the DS 3025 to the DCS.

Shop around for USCIS designated civil surgeon [DCS] as some will try to charge a lot.

i had the medical in MOROCCO in july 2007, and in august 2008 i had the aos interview , the officer just asked me to and take the chicken pox shot and that they approve my case. I even didnt send any medical form or record when i filed the AOS and i didnt get a RFE. I suggest you go first and if they need the medical then go ahead after the interview and take a new one.

Evan, how are you? I got my free TD vaccines at the Health Center at New Bern. I got a checkup there coz hubby wanted me to get 1 when I just arrived here but we paid for it though. Good thing, they gave me the free vaccines. You might have to establish records there 1st, dunno how it goes but check them out if you haven't gotten your vaccines.

If you go on to the USCIS website, there is a memorandum regarding the extension Of I 693 medicals until the interview takes place. This is memo is valid until2009 and it seems they have written one every year. I had mine done In August 2007 and have my interview on Sept 3rd 2008. My attorney said that was fine no problem. The reason for the extension is due to the continual backlog of I 485 interviews.

It might be woth checking it out.
