Also a May filer. I got first approval on May 9 and see some people who filed later than I did have the second approval already. Makes you wonder what they really do in the Service Centers. Supposedly they are supposed to be processed in the order received but I guess that is just fiction. I hope to get the approval soon, but you never know it seems. The official Website for the USCIS says they are working on Jan 15 applications as of July 15. I can see from the apps approved that that is not true. If they give out false information, why do they even bother with a website?

Just a little stressed by the whole process. haha

I am a May filer too; still waiting.

During the wait, and looking at those who have received their NOA2 over the past year or more, it seems there is no rhyme or reason how some are faster than others.

Since it is all speculation as how some are faster than others, I think maybe some of the adjudicators are quicker because they are less thorough. Maybe some of the adjudicators are slower at everything they do...their thought process is just slower, so that means their work is slower too. Maybe there are issues with applications we are unaware of that slows a specific couples process. My thought is when an adjudicator finishes a application he grabs the next one in line. If that application has problems, or it is thick due to divorces, name issues or whatever, he/she puts it to the side and grabs another application. I even have thought maybe the adjudicator looks for a 'thin' packet and figures it will be easier...hahaha.. like I stated, this is all speculation.

I know more applications will slow the process just because of sheer numbers. It seems those filers in February had quick turn around times. As the spring and summer roll around, the process slows; more applications? spring fever, summer vacations?

Maybe I am just cynical, but I imagine someone sitting behind a desk drinking coffee, chatting with people in the next cubical and making snide remarks about the current application in front of him/her. Then I see a quick turn around for a couple and think of a compassionate employee of the government, realizing these people's lives are dependent on this paperwork being completed as quick as possible...no speculation about why, what or how they fell in love, but just that it is their desire to marry and be happy.

What do you ya'll think?

Ronnie
