I have started collecting our evidence and reading threads here and I'm starting to get concerned about proving commingled finances as we tend to handle our own money (which works for us). We have seperate bank accounts, and I never bothered putting his name on the bills as he officially moved in 6 months or so after I moved into our apartment.

Here is what I have so far:

Joint share trading account at Ameritrade (I have only just added him to this)

Joint credit card

Taxes filed jointly for the past 2 years

His name as beneficiary on my 401k account

Life Insurance policy in both our names

Joint medical and dental insurance

Will this be enough? Is there anything else I should do in the next couple weeks before we file?

Correspondence addressed to the two of you at the same address; joint membership cards in Costco or similar things; wills designating each other your beneficiary/executor; statements to employers listing each other as emergency contacts, etc., affidavits from friends/neighbours/family who know of your marriage and life together; some of the household expenses paid by you, some of the household expenses paid by him both showing your individual names but mailed to the same address and for the same address; car title/registration/insurance in both names; family plan phone bills; driver's licenses showing same address . . .

Hi Rkl57,

This sounds like a good list of joining financial stuff that you have, as they are all importantly related to your finances in some way or other, and is enough in my opinion. You can only provide what you already have, and if you don't have anything else, you can't submit it then. If in doubt about the bills and bank account, you can write a note explaining about that too. Also, if you feel like you don't have enough evidence financial-wise, then you can submit more non-financial joint evidences for your application. For example, leases, memberships, mail, junk mail, photos, affidavits, etc. Make sure too, that all the evidence covers the entire period from your permanent residency to the present.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your immigration journey, Rkl57.

Ant (Only 4 more days to go until I submit my I-751....)

P.S. I couldn't help but read your timeline and discovered that we both got married on the same day (well, within a day/24hrs apart, close enough). What a strange co-incidence, indeed!
