Our approval was received by NVC on August 6, 2008. We still have not received the Payment Bills for the IV or for the Affidavit Support. Does anyone have any idea when we will receive this? I did receive the letter saying that our I-129F was sent to consulate where the marriage took place. And the wife will receive the packet soon. But nothing from the NVC, how long does it take to receive the bill and if any idea when the interview will be schedule any help is great.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you're going for a K3 visa and not a CR1/IR1. With these type of petitions, the NVC only assigns a case number and sends it to the embassy. The embassy will take care of the rest once they receive it. So for now, you will have to sit tight and wait for them to send your wife packet #3. You no longer have to deal with the NVC.

Thanks for the reply but do I not have to pay the fee of $400 and $70 (affidativ support)? Or will this be collected at my wifes embassy. How long does it usually take for the beneficary to receive the packet #3 if the NVC sent it out on August 7, 2008.

No, you won't have to pay for the $400 nor the $70 that go to the NVC. Your wife will have to pay a visa fee before the interview which I can't remember how much it is exactly. I believe it's like $130 something. You will have to pay $1,010 for AOS once she gets here, but that's a whole another topic.

As for the amount of time it might take the embassy to send your wife packet 3, not sure. It all depends on the embassy and how busy they may be. Maybe someone going for a K3 visa in Mumbai might be able to give you a timeframe on that.

Call the NVC automated line and enter your USCIS case number for the 130 or speak with an operator to find out about your I130. And if you fill in your timeline and Filed for: information you'll find that more people will help lead you in the right direction.
