"Ling Ling":

If you start making headway using the short-cuts, I'd love to know how it goes for you. I'm curious to get started as soon as my case number comes in, so maybe I can glean a little confidence from knowing you're also taking that route.

As promised, here's an update.

Wed. 8/13, received e-mail from CIS that they were sending approval notice.

Fri. 8/15, I started calling the IVR at NVC using my CIS number (if you don't understand all these acronyms...then you should read the Wiki first).

Anyway, the IVR kept telling me they didn't have my file.

Called on Sat, Sun, and Mon.

Then on Monday afternoon I had a question that required talking to an NVC live operator.

She asked for my CIS number, I told her I didn't think it would be in her system, and it wasn't needed for the question.

She looked up the CIS number and said I "JUST got into the system". She couldn't answer my question, but gave me the NVC number.

Used the DS3032 email template in the Wiki, and sent the DS3032.

The IVR still doesn't recognize the CIS or NVC number, but I'm hoping by tomorrow morning it will be in.

So tomorrow morning if it's in the system, I'm going to try to get the IIN and start paying those bills online.

The DS230 is almost ready (we weren't ready...expected a much longer wait in CIS)

Still need beneficiary's birth certificate, and police certificate. Still need petitioner's tax transcripts.

Hope to have everything ready to go by the end of the week.

Already used James' shortcuts to create barcode cover letters for I-864 and DS-230

Let's see what happens next

Congrats on your approval. It usually takes 2-4 weeks for information to be mailed and received by the petitoner. You may call the NVC to retrieve information regarding your case before they mail anything out. You may also want to get all the required information ready before hand so when the time comes it will be fast. I recommend that you check Loto's guide which is helpful through this process. Good luck.
