Hiya: Congrats on the approval. Our two I-130's (for wife and step-son) were approved on about the same date, so naturally I'm also interested in knowing how long we might expect things to take. I'm especially concerned about the reliability of the mail in Venezuela, and just how likely our NVC documents are to actually arrive in my wife's hands.

I guess I don't really have a good answer for you at this point, but I did want to chime in and let you know we're in the same boat time-wise. At least for now.

Best of luck,

We were approved July 7th and the NVC still doesn't have anything. I keep calling and they tell me to call back after it's been 90 days and they will look into it. I have called USCIS also to see if the paperwork has been sent to the NVC....they tell me the same....wait 90 days before they will track it. It's very frustrating

I've been reading this with interest and took it down with me on my last visit to Venezuela. Thing is, there doesn't appear to be much I can put into motion without the NVC case number. I've been calling once a day with my USC&IS receipt number for the automated voice menu. Nothing so far.

By the by ... how do I make our timeline show up after my posts? Anything special?

Hi, both of our I-129F and I-130 were approved earlier this month. I am wondering how long it typically takes for the documents to show up in the mail from the consulate so we can start moving?

You don't have to wait for the documents to show up in the mail. Call NVC to get the case#. For I-130, you can move ahead with online payment and email DS-3032, submit documents etc once you have the case# and IIN in hand.

For I-129F, you follow up with the consulate once NVC says it has been forwarded.

Yeah I started a NVC thread cause of all the people waiting and needing advice. I've noticed that with all the approvals that NVC maybe getting backed up now. Not a lot we can do until the IIN number is assigned but once it is you can send the DS3032 and pay 864 bill.... but gotta have that number!!!!!
