On a previous post of mine I was told by some NOT to use oue Western Union and Moneygram recirpts as evidence of ongoing relationship..

I want to help take care of them now , until we are together,

I just do not understand why it is not good idea to show them..... To me thats shows that I care enough for her to want to help her now ..

Hope someone can enlighten me on this ...

I used a few Western Union receipts as proof of continued relationship.

I think the concern with moneygrams is that at some consulates that could raise flag's about the beneficiary's intent--that he or she has found a "sugardaddy" of some sort and that the marriage is a financial decision.

since it is all about what the Co perceives... and since they are looking for reasons to refuse... don't innocently give them something they can possibly perceive the wrong way....

They represent only one side of the relationship. If there is any concern about the bona fides, the money transfers can quickly become evidence against the beneficiary. As such, it's best to focus on presenting evidence that shows both sides of the bona fides.

There's nothing wrong with supporting your fiance(e) or spouse or adding to their support but you probably have safer, more two-sided evidence to show.

Ours was for visa-related stuff. Not like I was paying the rent or utlities or anything.

I guess I could see if you were talking about monthly payments or something like that, it could look like that.

I guess I should've said it was money transfers both ways and I did produce copies of him sending to me as well.

A consular office in Kingston mentioned to me that evidence of financial support really helps if you are sending it in support of fiance - especially if there is a child involved.

Feb 10 2007 Met online and started talking and dating soon after.

June 22 2007 She flies to Jamaica and we meet for the first time in person.

June 24 2007 The proposal.

Aug 21 I-129 F sent

Aug 29 NOA1 received in the mail.

Sept. 21 Another visit to Jamaica

Dec. 19 Approval posted online

Jan 6 NOA 2 Arrives in the mail

We never receive a packet 3 - we are told to keep waiting for it to come in the mail

Feb 19 Turned in DS230

Feb 21 Qualified for our interview

March 3 We are told we were not scheduled for an April interview but we'd for sure be scheduled at the end of March for a May interview

March 11 Pick up Packet 3

March 28 Still no interview - I email them and ask why - same day they respond and tell me that due to a "high work load" our interview won't be until June or later. - I immediately email back and (nicely) demand to know why we are being passed over when we were assured we would have an interview in May.

April 1 Interview scheduled for April 22

April 3 Pick up Letter

April 15 I fly to Kingston

April 16 Medical

April 25 8:00am Interview

April 27 Approved

May 17 Entry through JFK

June 21 Our beautiful wedding

July 03 Mailed our AOS

July 06 NOA 1

Sept 26 Transferred to California Office - we live in New York - called the USCIS office and they assured us this is normal. We sure hope they are right.

Yes, that would be a completely different animal. Kind of like co-mingling. I supported my wife with a few hundred extra bucks a month too but there was only the one transfer for air fare and expenses associated with the trip to the Consulate, medical etc. The monthly amounts were from an account for which I sent her the debit card.

Then what do you people think is the best way of proof ,,,, we do send cards &letters back and forth ..Lots of phones calls ( almost daily) and numerous e-mails . and chat logs , also have recordes of sending her flowers.

Is there anything else we can do to strengthen our proof ???

And thank you all for the replies,,, You all are great

Looks good to me but the best evidence of a bona fide relationship is time together.

All that is great evidence for showing a continuing relationship. Add to that pictures, boarding passes, and passport stamps, you should be fine.

When I would go to visit my then fiancee, we would take trips together and I used the boarding passes with each of our names on them, along with pictures of us together at each of the places we visited.

I know not everyone has the time, or the money, to make multiple trips to see their SO's, but they are the most convincing proof of a bona fide relationship, not to mention it gives each other more time together, which is important to a strong relationship.
