How long do you have to be at your address when you mail off your I-130?

Do you have to be living there for 30 days or something before you can use that address? its too late for me now, but i was thinking, what if i had just rented a shitty apartment somewhere in the west so my application went to the CSC instead of the VSC? and then just changed my address after a month or two. would it get transferred back to VSC? if not, icould just leave it till i got my approval, and then change my address when it went to the NVC.

I would leave it until NOA2 and would not bother with address change even after it goes to NVC, USCIS only needs a correct address until NOA2, after that, and the next time you would inform them of address is perhaps moving after getting a green-card.

Wouldn't even need to be a "sh!tty" apartment... An address with the local Mail Boxes Etc. accomplishes the same... You can use the physical address of the store... MBE will also forward mail received....

something to think about then, no? i could just get a P.O. Box in cali or something then?

like i said, its too late for me, i've got 6 months and change since i sent it in, but it makes sense to do it for new people, no?

and if i changed my address right now, would it be transfered to a new center or just sit at VSC until approval?

it is the service center governed by your residence on the day filed.... no transfer for change of venue will occur
