I need advise from someone who is already approved and gone through the NVC / Embassy experience in India. I have applied for K3 visa and need to understand the approximate timeline for K3 and IR1/CR1 after the approval (NOA2).

How long does it approximately take for a K3 interview after the approval?

How long does it approximately take for the CR1 interview?

I know that in longer run, CR1 is the wiser thing to do.

Please let me know your experiences in terms of timeline to interview. Obviously, I would like input from normal cases (as opposed to expedited ones).

Timelines are very helpful.

K-3: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...ia&dfile=No

CR-1: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...ia&dfile=No

Compare, you will find in most cases CR-1 is not taking much longer. Consider CR-1, it eliminates the hassel of applying for green-card after entry on a K-3, CR-1 results in green-card upon entry.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Sorry, haven't seen this thread till now.

How long does it approximately take for a K3 interview after the approval?

How long does it approximately take for the CR1 interview?

Not sure for K3 but for CR-1 NVC schedule interview by second week of every month for the next month. So the Interviews for October will be scheduled by 14 September.

And with the new online payment CR-1 is much faster, may be only 2 weeks more than K-3 anymore. The fastest it took was 23 days for case to complete at NVC.

Indian consulates are better for giving out interview dates; beneficiary doesn't have to wait for months unlike other consulates.
