One has to ask who Peejay votes for, he's sounding incredibly like a communist in that post.

And no...I'm no communist or a socialist. I'm an American. I abhore tags. I've always voted independent. I never have and never will vote a straight party ticket. I've voted for candidates, but never for a party. I've been a union member in the past, but am not so now. My brother is a union member as was both of my grandfathers. My father worked in management and was never a union member. Myself, my father, and my American born grandfather have spent most of our lives working in various sectors of the oil & natural gas industry.

Of course, nothing ever stays the same, but I don't like what I see happening in my country today. I don't see the status quo as being sustainable here in the USA. For how long I don't know. This country is no longer about the American people. It's no longer the country I grew up in. The politicians, corporate types, and the academic elite run it for their own benefit. They are clueless as to what is really going on. And if they do, they don't care. They probably hope it won't come to a head after they die. If there's any irony in this world...I hope what they created will reap what it sows before they take the easy way out by dying of old age. If anybody deserves to have their chickens come to roost it is them. I really believe that.

The USA had a population of 200 million in 1970 before the effects of the huge immigration increase legislated by Teddy Kennedy and crew began kicking in. The U.S. has nearly 305 million people today. The population is projected to hit 400 million in 2039 and 439 million in 2050 if this madness continues. The third world does this through third word birthrates. The USA does this through over immigration. This madness is imposed on us by our government at the behest of the corporations and to a lesser extent by the ethno-centric lobby that controls congress. Pure greed, malfeasance, corruption, and selfish self serving motives. The American people did not buy into this lunacy when this legislation was enacted in 1965. The American people were and have been lied to from the get go on this. We were told this would not happen and it has.

I wonder what it looked like back in say the early 1800 with the green representing the Native Americans and the red every European fool and their mother who came here looking for a better life. It would look twice as big, I'm sure.

Have you ever been to other OECD nations?

There are lots of areas in the US that already look like 3rd world countries. Being that this thread is about immigration, I have seen quite a few predominately South American areas in the US that are poverty stricken. These areas look like they are stuck in the 60/70's. Run down. Dirty etc.

Come to DC and I will take you on a tour of these areas.

This is what I call a failed immigration policy. That is, where someone is allowed into a nation and then pretty much told good luck. Rather than being integrated into the country. So they feel part of the country.

On top of that you have idiots who do not comprehend the concept of integration and would prefer these people simply do their own thing, within their own community. They consider any attempt to integrate immigrants as pushing American culture onto them.

Well we are in direct economic competition with rising world powers like China and India, to whom we long ago sold off a good chunk of our manufacturing sector to. A decline of some sort is inevitable - happened with the British and the French.
