How did this mysterious person get your fiancee's email address? Or are you saying she's sending her PM's here on VJ?

I DONT KNOW HOW SHE GOT MY CONTACT INFO. for 2 years, i have been getting messages from her, it started on friendster, myspace, and now my yahoo sn. i have been changing my addresses and info's too. she loves me eh? pfft.

When you make a new account, make sure to use a secure password and use the security features, like blocking mail from specific people. There are ways to stop this crazy b!tch from harassing you electronically.

Keep blocking the new Yahoo Msgr messages (sn? whatever that stands for). You can set your messenger to only allow people to send you messages who are on your friend's list. She can try and add you to her list, but needs your approval. I don't mean to sound harsh, but really, it's not that difficult to stop her from harassing you.

You guys can PM me, if you need help on how to do it.

Trust me on this... Open up your Yahoo Msgr and go to your Preferences. Select the category - Ignore List. You'll see two buttons - only one can be selected. Select the one that says, "Ignore anyone who is not on my Messenger List."

There's no way she can send you an instant message once you've got that selected unless she's on your list.

I'm with this one, there's no way someone can message you unless you're on their messenger list, or unless you haven't them blocked, been there done that, trust me, theres no way someone can stalk you unless you either, 1) ask for it, that is, really wanting it or pretending you don't or 2) they have your information and either way, if they have your information you must have leaked it somehow. Hackers can do it... I was stalked on yahoo too... I don't use that account anymore, change my computer and my internet provider... That was the only way to stop him/her, now I only have my husband in my yahoo messanger and I dont use MSN anymore

When I got that advice, it sounded familiar.. coz i already did that before,but before i even replied anyway, i went to my preference, check on my ignore list, and yes there are two buttons that says :1)IGNORE ANYONE WHO IS NOT ON MY MESSENGER LIST 2.)IGNORE ONLY THE PEOPLE BELOW. the first one is checked, so i wondered why she can still message me. i do not need to block her because number 1 option is checked. she isn't added on my list either.

and as I've said, I have been changing my SN's and this time i even used different name. so yeah,.I don't know how she do it, but i don't ask for it, i don't really want it, and i don't pretend lol. MAYBE, if i want it, i would make it seem like they want me..that I am sexy, they can't live without me..and that i am so good with everything,so my fiance would feel like he won the lottery (bad humor attempt) unfortunately, she said a lot of good things about him, nearly praised him like a GOD (lol) and then told me how fun their intimate moment was! I CERTAINLY DO NOT LIKE THAT!

I refreshed the settings, i logged off and logged back in couple of hours later, and i got offline messages from a person who isn't on my list.

Oye...no offense, but what you are saying is happening doesn't make sense. I just tried out an experiment by sending a message to my wife via Yahoo Msgr. On the window, you have two options, Ignore or Add...and the only way I could even get her YM to show that was because she doesn't have the option set to Ignore anyone not on her list.

I'd suggest one other thing. Are you using a Mac? Do a complete uninstall of YM, and then run some kind of malware/spyware program.

Then find the latest YM version and download it to your computer, but before you install it, create a new Yahoo email account that you will use instead of your regular email account.

Also, you should be able to see this person's Yahoo Msgr/email account when they send you a message, and you can report them to Yahoo.

I understand that you tried to stop the harassment but it sounds like you've accepted defeat...that they can't be stopped and that's not true. You just need to be smarter and more tenacious than they are.

oh yeah got it. i am using windows xp,vista and mac. mac has its own version of YM.

Jabberwocky: What i said doesn't make sense, but it is what it is. someone told me to uninstall and install so i did and i havent got any stalker message till now. so we will see.i did my own experiment too, i logged in using vista and xp, i get no messages. then, i logged back in using the Mac, i get offlines from people who aren't on my list,when i tried to reply,it says the user can't receive and that i need to change my settings. and i have reported her as spam too many times. i Just thought there are some kind of programs where they can message you regardless of your settings, just like being able to see who is invisible and such.

I have used that feature to not allow any messages from people that are not on my list and it worked like a charm. The only thing i have gotten is the message " blah blah blah wants to view your webcam". That is only becouse i forgot to put myself invisible before i deleted them from my list. If you make yourself invisible to them ,then delete them , they won't see you online. I haven't gotten any messages from anybody thats not on my list in a long long time though.

For webcam option, what you can do is, go to preference-->Webcam-->Untick the message which says--> When I show my webcam, change my status message to --> And there will be a message at the bottom saying -->View My webcam

By doing this whenever you switch on your cam, no one can really see that you are on cam, basically no advertisement of you being on cam and you can invite just the specific people you want to view your cam.
