hi everyone!

this is my first post on the AOS forum.

i have arrived in the US on a K1 visa 3 weeks ago...and shame on me... i have little idea about how the whole AOS process goes on.

i will read the forum and the guides and i am sure i will find the info i need.

but just to get it started...i have a question!

At POE the officer took all my K1 packet! i mean everything! and just gave me back my passort and the 1-94 form. Will I need any of the documents they took away for the AOS? I am concerned about my medical paperwork... I don't have anything anymore except my vaccination reccord that the doctor gave to me.

I actually asked the POE officer if that was all and if i didn't need anything in the envelope and they said "you are fine".

thanks for your replies!

Alina

Hi there! as what the POE officer "you are fine" That is what, we as k1, supposed to do, give to them the k1 packet on our arrival. For now you are getting ready for your upcoming wedding? Alina,

There really is nothing in that K1/sealed envelope (taken at POE) that you'll need for AOS. Presumably you have originals of important documents (such as birth certificate, divorce/death etc) and copies of anything else anyway. (USCIS will have your medical information - thats why they took it.)

Follow the AOS guides and you'll be fine - in the mean time, get situated and get married..

No need to worry. The medical report and the rest of the packet is forwarded to USCIS. The medical and the rest of the good stuff will get paired with you AOS once you file. You only need the vaccination record from your panel physician medical.

You full medical is good for 1 year and it will get matched to your AOS. You will need to send a vaccination supplement with your AOS in a sealed envelope for a US civil surgeon. They will transcribe the vaccination record form the DS3025 and any other vaccination record you have onto the vaccination part of Part 2 of form I693 and sign part 5. Part 1 must also be completed, which is information about you.

See here for more details about k1 medicals: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693instr.pdf
