on question 34 on the ds-230, it ask if you were assisted with completeing this form, if she says yes does that raise a red flag for the interview? I only helped her understand what certain words were, since she is not 100% fluent in English yet.

They are really only asking if the person was helped by an agent (such as an attorney, etc).

She has to say yes if you guys employed a lawyer or administrative scrivener (Gyosei-shoshi), otherwise the answer is no.

If she's already said yes to the question, I am not sure what will follow.

Why do you think it would raise any flags. So you helped her fill in the form or understand what is going on....you don't have anything to worry about. Best to be honest. They might go over it again during the interview esp. part II, so if she doesn't know what it means, then THAT might raise flags. It won't hurt if you say yes. I filled the whole thing in for my wife and she just signed...and I said yes she go help and I signed as well.

I checked "yes" in mine as the husband.

I initially filled out the form for my wife who then checked it for accuracy and inserted missing information before signing it. Nothing wrong with that as far as I can see?
