What date does the USCIS go by? Received date or NOA1

What date does the USCIS go by? Received date or NOA1

When I called Vermont a couple of weeks ago, I asked them this question and they said they honored the Received Date!!!

On the other hand I received The letter of the Transfer to CSC stating the following:

Receipt Date January 10, 2008

Notice Date August 6, 2008

It says that before you call to first check the processing dates for the specific center that your case was transferred to. If the service center is within the processing time for your particular application or petition, USCIS cannot provide an update on your case. If the service center is outside of processing time for your particular application or petition, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to request an update.

Only thing I don't like is that they put january 2008 as receipt date. What about October? My petition was Received on October 10.

Please shed some light on this situation...

They "say" they will honor the actual date that the case was received at the office, but since there was such a backlog, they have been using the NOA1 date as the "received" date. A whole bunch of rubbish if you ask me...

I know this sounds childish by that is "So Unfair" so we are in line waiting just like everyone else.

Thats like 4 months of our lives FLUSHED DOWN THE DRAIN... anyway I am not going to lose my faith just yet. I am still looking forward to an approval and my husbands visa before our Baby is born.

I hope we all get out of this nightmare asap.
