USCIS Processing Times web page

the USCIS Processing Times web page shows colors for each petition in either yellow or green. i've been taking some screen shots lately and these colors change periodically, even though the "last updated" date remains the same. does anyone know if these colors signify something related to what petitions the service center is working on currently?

They can't be separators, because you see 4 green then 1 yellow then 2 green then 4 yellow, there no pattern, good observation, I wonder what it means.

Yes I've often wondered about that too. I have also seen pink/red color once or twice... I thought it must be like a traffic light, green means going at expected pace, yellow some delay and pink stalled. But maybe I'm over-interpreting...

Yes, but if you look carefully, you'll notice that the 4 green are all 1 type of application (for example I-90, but 4 different types of I-90), then so is the next 1 yellow (maybe an I-130), and the next 2 green etc.

I'm not sure about the other guys on this thread, but I kinda spend my days looking for patterns (well correlations in scientific data) Probably anyone with a science/engineering background would have noticed it.

i see what you're saying about the different types of app's being grouped by color, but if you check the processing page periodically the colors do change. i suspect a combination of both previous suggestions - the colors are both a separator and an indicator of what petitions are being worked on.

I've always interpreted it the same way as AussieDude, the colors are just alternating between yellow and green (yellow for one application, green for the next on the list) to make it easier to read the chart. Don't recall seeing any other colors or patterns, though that would be interesting.
