Hello guys! My interview is already next week and I'm a bit worried. Do you think the CO will ever care about the details in our Marriage Certificate particularly the addresses?

We got married last year. It was my fiancee's (now my husband) 3rd visit and during that time he could not stay very long. I got a referral to a Pastor who also happens to be the head of the Civil Registrar of this City which is NOT my hometown. Now my concerns are:

1. My address in the MC is different form my residence address found in all my other documents.

2. The place where we got married in the MC is a church (christian) from that City but actually we had the ceremony in the sala of our Hotel. The pictures will show.

But please dont get me wrong. Our marriage is Legal and so is our MC. We just had to find someone who can help us do the wedding in such a short time. The normal way is to wait for 10 days just to get a license and then wait again for the wedding itself right?

Do you think the Consul will grill me on these details? Please I would really appreciate your inputs.

I feel that it was my fault that I hadn't think about this before. Maybe I should have done something.

Good luck to us all!

The only issue would be why your residential address is different. I don't see why you had to do that. As far as I know, a marriage license in the Philippines, once issued, is valid for ANY place in the country. I know because my husband and I once planned to marry in Cebu while getting a license elsewhere. We ended up marrying in Bangkok though (in a different distrcit from where we live).

I assume since your husband couldn't stay for too long, you looked for a way to skip the 10 days' notice, right? That should be okay. You can say you applied for a marriage license before he arrived. :)

If they ask about the address, you might say you have a relative you live with in the area and the Civil Registrar insisted on an address in that city.

Good luck!

I dont think so, CO doesn't care about addresses, my address was changed in marriage certificate and even in police clearance certificate it was not same as my present address.

Thank you ao_cons and roza. I got a little relieved. I just hope I won't get too nervous. Or better yet I hope they won't ask about it at all.
