Henia I hope you have your beautiful baby girl in your arms soon!

Is your daughter excited to be a big sister?

Sara, your little Pineapple is just so adorable - I can't believe that she is already 10 months - time flies!

I am set for induction tomorrow at 5 am but I have to go to the hospital tonight for cervix ripening at 5 so I dont know if my baby is coming tonight or tomorrow. Most likely tomorrow. When I went to the ob this week, my cervix had not opened so they are requiring me to have something called cervical ripening with like an insert before they start me on pitocin

why arent you in Blida with the nuns? This is crazy . Someone needs to get you to Algiers or Oran or some big city. Running around looking for a dr just seems nuts to me. How far are you from Algiers? There has got to be some private clinic operating somewhere. For you to run around with your blood pressure rising just seems NUTS

Its not like the USA.. I keep telling people that.. Its not like they have critical care hospitals all over the place. Have you explored what they use for anaesthesia there? I know they gave my daughter nothing when she had stitches. ( she ended up with a frankenstein scar and this was the PRIVATE CLINIC. I still say call the NUNS

My nurse friend in the US said all my symtpons seem like preclampsia but without examing me she isn't sure. I havn't had any high BP before this! Spent all of last night curled in a ball ... with pain in my upper abdomen and vomiting.

Well as Hanging in There said Algeria isn't the US ... here they won't admit you unless doctor says to ... so without any doctors on site they are not admitting anyone with them either bleeding throu (which I am not) or the baby nearly out!

Nuns in Blida are only midwives, so no doctor there either ... they don't do emergency like C-sections so I can't use them.

I am about 2hrs out from Alger/Blida ... and we have no car! Husband trying to ask around for some relatives to take us ... but of course everyone is "busy" ... he is out now looking for doctor. If he cannot find one ... we are taking a taxi after iftar (if we find one)!

For these situations, I hate Algeria ... it's Ramadan so everyone is home sleeping ... and anyone sick can die or go to hell here!

K: Wishing you all the best of an easy labour/delivery. Enchallah post us your handsome son's pictures soon! I will be praying for you girl! (((HUGS)))

PS: Oops forgot to reply to your question:

Well the pain relief options are limited to epidural or bringing your own TENS machine from Europe ... you have bring them yourself and regulate them yourself. They will not even insert the epidural needle here for you in the hospital. Bu tthey are midwives who will ... but hard to find them and they are $$$!

But I didn't opt for this since I have heard too many stories of the needle being insert in wrong place leaving the mother paralyzed. Plus who knows what Algerian "knock off" you are buying ... no food/drug standards rules here to adhere to!

And here you are in crammed in a room with 3-4 other labouring women ... with one or 2 nurses/doctors for the whole ward. So basically you are all alone (why I wanted the nuns) ... Rooms are dirty ... you bring your sheets/medical supplies ... and clean your own "labour bed" ... alot of fun!

And you went back to Algeria WHY??? Do those so called Doctors not realize that pre-eclampsia can be deadly??? to both mom and baby??? And what about your busy neighbors?? Golly people's thinking /priorities makes me crazy sometimes. For all the complaining people do about the USA, I'm glad to be here after hearing that. Good golly!

I hope you are doing okay now. Please update us when you can. The conditions there really make me sick. I wish things could be better for you.
