My fiance has his interview Monday, May 22nd at the Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany. When he ordered his police report it was accidently send directly to the Consulate. Has anyone done this by mistake or is this the way it should be done? I am so worried...... any feed back or personal experiences shared will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Paula

Perhaps that's how German consulate does things? I'm not sure, maybe others who have gone through Germany may know more.

Here in New Zealand, the police report from NZ goes directly to the Consulate. The form was attached to the DS2001 and the DS230 Part I and the instructions said to fill it out and return it to them, that they would order it. I would imagine different Consulates have different ways of doing things. How do you know your fiance's was sent to the Consulate?

8-12-2004 I moved to New Zealand(married my Kiwi in US 5/04)

1-12-2006 Received initial packet - It has I-130, I-864 & DS-230 Part 1, DS-2001 & tons of instructions.

Gathering paperwork that we don't have:

5-30-2006 - I-130 FILED AND ACCEPTED BY AUCKLAND CONSULATE!- INTERVIEW: 6/13/2006

6-13-2006 - APPROVED!usaCa.gifnew_zeaC3.gif

6-14-2006 - VISA IN HAND D_SMIL112.gif

08-05-2006 -WE ARE HOME IN THE USA!!! flag12.gif

THREE HAPPY YEARS LATER:

5-10-09 - N-400 filed

8-24-09 - Interview

9-14-09 - Naturalization Oath Ceremony

Aha, different scenario--they were trying to help. Since he has an interview, more than likely he already has a case number, A#, etc. so it shouldn't be a problem as they will know who he is. Let us know what happens at the interview on Monday. Good luck

Awwe, let me know how it went....I am filing through Frankfurt as well and any info how you guys did it would be very helpful!!!

Thanks so much!

Good luck for the Interview!!!

I posted a question about the police record as well...do you know, what kind of record he got? And did it get translated?

As far as I understood the Lady at the city hall, there are different versions and she asked me which kind I needed.

Hello nane,

I got back from Frankfurt and the police record they get is the basic one for 13,-- Euro. You need to translate it if you have an entry in your police record. Otherwise a translation is not required.

And make sure the Bundeszentralregister sends it to your home address. Don't let them send it to the consulate. The normal processing time the mayors office will tell you is 8 to 9 days. But calculate with more and if you have more time order the police record as early as possible, but within the 3 months before the interview.

The consul told me today that I will receive my visa within the next two weeks. And then I am airborne right after the visa is there. Back home to my love.

Wishing him a successful interview!!

Thanks to all who wished me good luck. :)

I know it got sent to the Consulate because when it arrived at my fiance's house in Germany he was here in the US visiting me and his relative mailed it in to the consulate by mistake.

My fiance just back from the interview and he said it went very smooth and the Consular Official told him his visa is on the way!!!!

We were so stressed out and worried about the police record getting there, it had been mailed in to the Consulate with the check list by mistake. Since we weren't sure if this was permitted or if it would even get into his file, we had a second report ordered over two weeks ago. The lady from the Mayor's office mistakenly sent that copy to the Consulate as well (talk about bad luck). As of the time of the interview that report still had not arrived. They did however have the first copy that was sent in by mistake with the Checklist. So, word to the wise.... if you are going through the Frankfurt, Germany Consulate make sure you specify to the Mayor's office to send the report to your home address so you can take it to the interview with you along with all your other documents.

With any luck the visa will arrive this week and Markus will be back on a plane this Memorial Day Weekend!!! (L)
