"Time to take your partner home to meet Mom and Dad, once again, some couples won't feel as if this a big deal, while others know it's a major indicator that the relationship is really getting serious. Consequently, as you ask, the first thing to hammer out is what the meeting means.

When the two of you agree the "meet the parents" step is a major turn of events, create a strategy. Give your partner advice on how best to approach your folks. If your parents are reserved, a handshake and a more formal greeting may be in order. If your parents are a little more gregarious, you may find your partner hugging them he or she just met.

Also bring flowers or a small gift to your lover's parents the first time you meet them. Later, try to make more personal connection with them.

When the big moment arrives, carefully avoid controversial topics like religion and politics. No sense starting an early, unnecessary disagreement. This is true even when the two of you have the same values. Never assume his or her parents will feel the same way or believe the same things.

Just remember, the "meeting the parents"phase can be very romantic. After the visit is over, it's wise to talk about what happend. Don't judge your lover's performance. Instead, reassure him or her that things went fine. If there were trouble spots, your lover already knows"

---from the romance book---

have a great day to all of you and god bless you all :)

Haha. The 2 things you say to avoid discussing were the first things my dad asked about...lol. Religion and politics. My dad is very liberal. So the only thing he wanted to know was how Laeeq felt about Bush and did he need to get chicken instead of bacon wrapped filets for dinner...lol. Gotta love it. :P

My family loves my husband almost as much I do...that is very important to me.
