Please describe the ugliest person you ever dated...

lots of hate in this thread.........

in the theory of Berne... the term "blemish" is used as a defense mechanism..that is, as long as i can find fault or a "blemish" on other person, then i feel more superior than that person and don't have to look at my own issues/shortcomings..this thread reeks of this..the "hate" is coming from those, who played along

lotsa people finding fault or a blemish with the op, that's for sure.

I didn't find blemish-I think the thread is tasteless; what one person thinks is attractive, another does not. It's that simple...But why poke at ex's? Surely at one point they were found attractive in some way, otherwise why have a relationship to begin with?

PLUS ( and I know this is kind of just my opinion) I thought the whole amputee thing was a crock.

What I find interesting and good about is that there are so many people that don't think this is funny...the whole idea of the thread. That's heartening! There have been so many threads here on VJ in OT that I sometimes read, and never comment on, because I find them very troubling, and hurtful. Some people say that if you don't like it, don't read it! But there comes a time when you can't stay silent anymore. When things don't change because by NOT voicing your discontent, you are part of the fray that thinks that this is okay...and it's not.

AMEN - maybe I'm going too far here, but why is it NOT OK to say let's have a thread making fun of black people(and I recall in an earlier thread Ken mentioning he had been the target of some racist remarks) but to make fun of 'ugly people' is OK - some of us have no more choice in how we look than you have choice in what race you are - PREJUDICE is ugly no matter who is its target. Being the 'ugly kid' walking down the hall in 7th grade having things thrown at you, how is that different from being called a n#####???

I haven't read the whole thread, but why would anyone date someone they were not attracted to? and who is anyone to say what is ugly and what is not, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I don't think anyone I have dated was ugly.

O/T this thread was started by Ken...Is that the same Ken who did Columbia recently? Did you start this thread because of your conquests in Columbia and now you are on a huge ego boost, the MacDaddy or something, so it's time to poke at the "ugly people"? Like I said beauty is in the eye of the beholder, those Columbian girls thought you were the bomb-biggety ( which is great)...Yet, I think eh......not really. Just differing viewpoints and opinions of what attractiveness really IS. No one is actually right, and no one is wrong.

I do think this thread is in poor taste, though. Your comment on amputees really irked me but that's because just spent a day at the VA hospital in Shreveport last week. Lots of amputees there.

Keep in mind that Paul McCartney, who could have had a boatload of hot 22 year old models, married Heather Mills, an amputee. Regardless of how it all ended, it goes to show looks and 'perfection' aren't everything.

So a lot of hatin' going on here... I did post a while back (and I don't feel like reading through this thread) that I did date a really nice, not-so-cute girl once. Lets say her personality was what made her attractive to me.

Attraction can be more than just singularly physical, although that obviously helps. A lot.
