Ugly is on the inside. I don't care what a person looks like on the outside......if they are beautiful and their personality and attitude suck, then they are the uglist person I know. If they are not attractive and have a great personality, they are beautiful.

That's not fair - even I (who was the designated 'ugly girl' at every school I attended) could be made to look 'hot' with the right makeup, angles, hairstyling, lighting and airbrushing like in that photo - and who knows how many shots were taken to create that one perfect image? Yet this is held up as the standard of beauty that overworked American women who are not on camera are supposed to emulate. I love sites like dlisted because they show stars when they're not 'on', going to the deli with their makeup off and their hair in a ponytail, some of them would not even get a second look from a construction worker I am sure....

I haven't read the whole thread, but why would anyone date someone they were not attracted to? and who is anyone to say what is ugly and what is not, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I don't think anyone I have dated was ugly.

Did you start this thread because of your conquests in Columbia and now you are on a huge ego boost, the MacDaddy or something, so it's time to poke at the "ugly people"? Like I said beauty is in the eye of the beholder, those Columbian girls thought you were the bomb-biggety ( which is great)...Yet, I think eh......not really. Just differing viewpoints and opinions of what attractiveness really IS. No one is actually right, and no one is wrong.

I do think this thread is in poor taste, though. Your comment on amputees really irked me but that's because just spent a day at the VA hospital in Shreveport last week. Lots of amputees there. :(

I haven't read the whole thread, but why would anyone date someone they were not attracted to? and who is anyone to say what is ugly and what is not, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I don't think anyone I have dated was ugly.

What I find interesting and good about is that there are so many people that don't think this is funny...the whole idea of the thread. That's heartening! There have been so many threads here on VJ in OT that I sometimes read, and never comment on, because I find them very troubling, and hurtful. Some people say that if you don't like it, don't read it! But there comes a time when you can't stay silent anymore. When things don't change because by NOT voicing your discontent, you are part of the fray that thinks that this is okay...and it's not.

in the theory of Berne... the term "blemish" is used as a defense mechanism..that is, as long as i can find fault or a "blemish" on other person, then i feel more superior than that person and don't have to look at my own issues/shortcomings..this thread reeks of this..the "hate" is coming from those, who played along
