In regard to the I-134, it states a letter from a bank officer is needed to verify bank accounts. I have 2 accounts along with a few savings accounts. Does that mean I need a letter from each one (only 2 accounts are in the same bank)? Also, is there a balance of cash on hand that they are lookng for? My salary is well above the 125% povertly level but I had some financial difficulties which I just finished dealing with recently so I dont have much in the way of savings right now. Thanks in advance.

many people who exceed the income requirement simply ignore the asset component of the affidavit.

What stage of the process are you at?

It' s up to you. If you're well above the 125% you probably don't need to include a letter verifying it. My experience for the interview was that I used a co-sponsor and she was well above the poverty limit and she didn't include a letter from the bank verifying her accounts. The majority of answers I have read regarding this question, most people say you won't need it.

Her interview is scheduled for the first week of Sep. So, we have just about everything done. I will be flying over there to hang out with her during the interview. On that note, I have another question...I was told by one person that if I accompany her during the interview, they might bring me in and ask me questions. Is that true or will they just ignore the fact that Im there?

I forgot to ask in my question above, will bank statements suffice for the bank officer letter?

CO's discretion to talk to you or not.

Would it complicate things if he wanted to talk to me or should I just stay out of it?

I suppose you are dammed either way because it depends on what they want to talk about..... I suspect thare are occasions where the USC can confirm information and assist in the approval process and I can imagine there are situations that the USC can confirm information that causes a refusal.

YMMV

yes I guess to err on the safe side I will just stay out of it. Do you know how long the actual interview is? I was told 15 min by one person and over an hour by another

My wifes interview was about 5 minutes, the lady didn't want me in the room with her at all. Good that I went as they denied her and I had to bring up banking and assets that were completely overlooked.

Did you just provide bank staements or did you need to have a letter from your bank as well? If you dont mind me asking, why was she denied?
