Hey there!

I know our package 3 is a ways off yet, but I was wondering what comes in it. I want to start getting everything ready for it now, so that when it does show up, I can get it sent back off as quickly as possible...

Also I was wondering about the background check.... I was reading on the RCMP website, and they said that it could take up to 120 days for it to be processed, so I wanted to get that sent off as soon as possible.... Is it ok for me to have it sent off now, or will the USCIS care that it has been done a few months in advance???

Any input on this would be helpful..

Thanks!

If you look in the blue menu bar at the top of the page, there's a link "Embassy Info". Find your embassy and there is probably a good write up of what Canada (Montreal or Toronto) sends out and probably a website where you can read more about it. Each consulate has slightly different procedures to get to the same general end.

You can download packet 3 from the embassy website in its entirety and work on everything now. When you get the notice from the NVC that they have sent your petition to the embassy, wait two weeks and send them an email asking if they have it. If they do, call immediately and get your interview date! You will be way ahead of the game. Canadian mail is very reliable (consider yourself lucky) but why wait? You can easily get everything ready now.
