asking this for a friend....

Hi, this is a question from a friend who filed K1 VISA

My fiance submitted our petition Jan 24, 2008 then after two days we got a response plus the application receipt number. Then July 7th 2008 our petition is approved and is being forwarded to NVC so they can forward it to the embassy here in Manila. Fiance received a mail from USCIS stating that NVC should received it within 2-4 weeks and will receive a mail from NVC when its being submitted to the embassy here.

The problem is.. until right now.. my fiance has not received anything from NVC... no mail or email and it has been a month now since it got approved. I'm wondering if NVC already forwarded it here in Manila and forgot to inform us? I'm really confused because they told us to wait 2-4 weeks to receive a mail from NVC and its been beyond that timeline.

Then my fiance emailed NVC last thursday and we are still waiting for a response. Also, hes been trying to call them but hes been on hold forever. He'll try to call it again and wont stop til he talks to somebody.

Have you encountered this? All answers will be appreciated. Thank you.

the automated system at NVC is not for people on K-1. You must speak to someone at NVC, because no K-1 Fiancee visas are entered into their automated system.

Agree

Pls tell your friend to call NVC using this number:(603) 334-0700, 1, then 5. They said the best time to call would be 7:31 AM Eastern Standard Time.

Tell your friend also to call and check with USEM 02 301 2000 ext. 5184 or 5185 look for Grace or Lorraine. I've heard about cases where USCIS or NVC failed to send approval hard copy or letter in the case of NVC but their papers have already been successfully sent to the appropriate embassy.
